[IMG] I just started replaying BG1. I don't know why, but the XP I'm getting is CONSIDERABLY lower. I get 49xp for wolves, and when I was supposed to get 1000xp from albert I got 900xp I'm also getting 1500xp from Vamp Wolves, isn't it 2000xp? Now, getting screwed by 1xp to 20xp per creature is bad enuf but 500xp?! What the hell? It's happening with every quest and creature, I'm getting xp like 288 or 427 when I'm supposed to be getting 300 or 500. It's messed up. So, did it get fux0red from being in Storage too long or did I unknowingly slip it into a "low xp" or "hard" mode?

Strange... you already checked the config to check if you play on Normal mode???? Maybe an update will fix the problem?

Ehm you don't wear the helmet of bad memory, XP reduced by 20 percent? ;)

Yeah, I checked it already. And I checked difficulty levels and stuff too. Bah! The games just afraid of my getting too strong ;)
Helm of bad memory? I'm not sure, it looks like a cone and it says "Dunce" on it. But I can't take it off to study it, it says "Item Cursed" ;)
btw last few times I played thru I didn't pickpocket many people. Now who can I get some nice shit from, and what do they have thats up for "grabs" ;)

I remember reading that if a character had low Charisma they may get less of a reward for solving a quest. Could this apply to XP too? (this is only a shot in the dark because I've got no clue)

Hmmz I can't help you with this problem, but

I can help you with the other question. When first in Beregost, go to the Fielpost Inn. On the second floor, there is a guy named Algernon or something like that. Well in the beginning the pickpocketing-skills aren't very high (Imoen 25%, Montaron 35%? I thought) so it can be that you have to load the games a few times. Pickpocket the guy, he has a cloak that gives Charisma 18 (maybe it fixes the other problem too) and with the abillity to charm a person once a day. Very strong item in the beginning and good when one of your party-members gets dire charmed. There are also a few hidden items in the game, very strong too.

Actually the cloak only gives you +2 Charisma (plus the charm ability). It's not until BG2 that you find an item that gives you 18 Charisma.

Actually I already have the cloak. my real charisma is 16, now it's 18, there goes your theory boys :p
But I am SERIOUSLY getting screwed over.
When I killed Greywolf I got 1050xp! and when I killed the flesh golems of thalantyr I only got 1500! That's a 500xp per golem knockdown!
ALL creatures are giving me lower XP. I get 488 with ogre berserkers and 233 with ogres.
I don't get it. Is there something wrong with the way I speak. Do they even hear me when I pass them on the street? I close my eyes, and let them be. because I just can't see, why I'm getting low XP. (a song edited to fit my purposes)
