Why is Tiax in Spellhold?

If Tiax is a cleric/thief, why is he housed with mad wizards.

Do they take clerics there as well? Or is Tiax there just because he's a nutter?

 

probably cause he's a nutter and Bioware thought it would be funny...

 

Well, Spellhold isnt just for mages, but is an asylum for total whackos too. Given Tiax's meglomania, I think Bioware figured it'd be the perfect place for him.

He wanted to take over the world, and because he is a cleric/thief, he can use magics, so it is obvious the Cowled Wizards won't like it.

 

The Cowled Wizards don't care about divine magic, only arcane.

 

That's why I posted the question. He only uses divine magics. I don't see the preists of Helm being locked away.

 

As said, because he's mad as a doorknob.
He's a violent, potentially dangerous madman.

 

Maybe the priests of Helm have paid for their liscense and Tiax didn't

But what about the woman just before Tiax, she just experimented too much with Planar Travel and she became a little too visual, and also the little girl who was practically a doppleganger, they weren't mages, just dangers too either themselves or society.

 

Yeah, Tiax was a real danger...

 

It was cool to see Dradeel again, even though he seemed slightly.... unbalanced. Quayle was in the original game too, wasn't he? Just outside Baldur's Gate. They changed his history as well if I recall correctly.

True, but shrinking his undergarments does not prevent him from being a divinely-assisted sociopath who's as mad as a bicycle. And IIRC, after he makes his jocks too small, he gasps out something like "Tiax will... rule later."

When you set him loose: "Today he rules all!"

When you tell him to attack Irenicus: "Tiax will face him alone. Tiax judges you not worthy..."

Anybody who's crazy enough to attack Irenicus alone is obviously a bit of a lunatic. Just a shame Irenicus had to waste him before he left.

 

What Id like to know is how all those people i killed in BG1 came back to life in BG2

If you'll notice, you can get into spellhold by convincing desharik you're insane, wether you're a mage or not, so it can just be for those deemed a danger to society.
