[IMG] Oh Duskai... there are no words I can offer to help you with your pain. Just hold tight to your loved ones, seek comfort in your love, and try to not to waste too much energy in anger. Smile, love... and appreciate the good days even more... I'll be wishing you happiness... :)

[IMG] I've never been in that situation...I'm sorry to hear about it. The only thing I could say would be "Enjoy now, and enjoy each other"

Trite, I suppose...But if there's nothing that can be done, enjoy the time you have, and think positive thoughts. Don't dwell on the result.

    Warm Wishes!

    I think I understand Duskai.

My dad has Multiple Sclerosis and a history of seizures. If one doesn't get him, the other will. There are some days that he can't even get out of bed, and one day he lost all use of his limbs and collapsed in the living room. He couldn't move for a week. Every day it gets worse, and now he carries a folding cane just in case something comes up.

I'm not going to give you the Other-People-Have-It-Worse-Off speech. But one must remember that it is better to suffer now on Earth, than in the next world. I know that this is not much of a consolation, and I'm sorry.

    [IMG] Duskai---
Yes, it does seem like the nicest and kindest people tend to get dealt the worst hands.
If you believe in God then I would say this to you. I believe that God only bothers to test and try the people he thinks will make it into heavan. The tests are to make us strong and prepare us for what is to come after our life here on earth is over. They are meant to be hard and sometimes hurt. The people who he knows, and we know, are not good at heart He doesn't even bother to test. He doesn't bother to test them, because he knows that they will not be let into heavan. Therefore they seem to have fairly easy lives.
The only thing that you can do, is pray, try to be strong, and deal with things one step at a time. God says in the bible that he will not set a task on your shoulder that he doesn't feel you can accomplish. I am not super religious, so I cannot give you the exact phrase or tell you exactly where.
Being that my life has been extremely hard, and I have already lost a couple of people that I really cared about, and almost lost my mom 3 times, I believe that I can speak from some experience.
I hope that things turn out ok. It would be nice if you keep us posted. It helps to have people to talk too.

Sapiryl--- I am not sure exactly what to say to that, except for your welcome I guess. I didn't expect anyone to react that way to what I wrote.

Shura, if u say god is a bastard, does that mean that u believe in him? U see a true atheist can't blame God nor ask for his help, it's about as useless as asking your wrist digital watch for help. Towels on the other hand can come in handy :)
Satiana, if what u say is true does it mean all those people who lived long happy life are going straight to hell? And why would this happen to nice folk, who had never done anything wrong in their lives? I understand this idea makes u feel better when things are not going well, but it's not very convincing even for a believer like many of those people u have just doomed to eternal damnation.

Duskai, I don't think anybody here can answer your question. If God does exist, talk to him maybe he will explain u his intentions. Life isn't fair. It wasn't mean to be fair. Happy end is a cheesy Hollywood invention. Life is game and a constant struggle. U have to play with what u have, and be grateful for it, cause yep it could be worse.. But it's all words, and I wish I could really help u :( First of all remember that we live in time of technological miricals, we can fly to the stars and make machines talk... Keep your hopes up and hopefully the medicine will catch up with u, nothing is impossible.
Maybe try talking to the support groups, which usually include friends and relatives or even past patience with that particular disease. They might have just the right advice on dealing with all of this, and u won't feel as isolated in your pain.

Lo, I am unconcerned whether I'm labelled a aetheist or not. I have studied the bible for 2 years as part of my school cirriculum and attended church unwillingy. The thing I hear most is that 'it's god's will this, god's will that'. Anyway, if a god who is omnipotent and allows shit to happen, he/she's a total piece of asswipe in my opinion and totally deserves 3 feet of katana up one of his private orifices.
God, if existent, is an evil monster who ranks less than a defiler of sheep in my eyes.
    I'm just an opened-minded aetheist, I guess.

    Hmmm,
ok first of all, God does not make things happen, people do. God gave us choices and we choose what we believe and how we act. We are totally responsible for our own actions. God does not LET some get in a car accident, some one else made a bad decision and that is the reason that the accident happened. He gave us our own minds so that we could have choice and decisions. Just for an example.
God is more of a guidance in our lives. He is there to help us through the hard times and be with us through the good. He is a presence of sorts.
Yes, he does tend to work in misterious ways, and sometimes he does interfere with a miracle or two. But, obviously those are only on speacial occasions. For the most part it is up to us to get through this life on our own. That does not mean we can't ask Him for guidance and consolance. To help us when we are going through times of trouble. I don't believe that he likes to interfere in our lives all that much. Be it for good or for bad. Everything happens for a reason.
Life is a trial, not a carnival. And it is hard on everbody in one respect or another and it good to people in one respect or another as well.

Lo--that is not what I am saying at all. There are people out there who live long and happy lives and that does not mean there are going to hell. However, there may be some of your actions that you might do over your life that you will have to answer for, if they are of an evil sort.

You see, take people who have killed someone. They obviously enjoyed what they did, and it made them happy to do it. They felt no remorse. And if they had not been caught they probably would of kept doing it, because in some sick manner, it fulfilled part of what they felt the needed to have in their lives. However, in Gods eyes, murder is inherently evil. Obviously these people are going to go to hell. They took a life from someone.
Do I believe that if you did drugs, or drank too much alchohol, or had a lot of sex that you are going to go straight to hell. NO! You may have to answer for your actions, but I don't believe that it is a one way ticket.
You see, it is all in the heart. If you are good at heart and you really try to do what you think is right, then it does not matter that much that you screwed up a couple of times. Everyone does, it is why we are considered human.

So, God is a distant, unconcerned overseer who is here solely to give advice? He is here to listen to our problems and let us vent? A crutch of sorts? A happy and convenient thought, and useful in times of need. I do not begrudge anyone their crutch. What I detest is that so many people try to force it unto others. They speak of how they are saving us by letting us commune with the Great One. Hmm... I find more solace in talking to myself. At least then I KNOW someone can hear me.

No matter what you believe now, keep an open mind.

I leave you with this question: Why is a mouse when it runs.
