Will Imoen always be a bit behind in XP?

Hey everybody. I just went up to Chapter 4, and in the whole game I was deliberately trying to do as few quests as possible so that Imoen could join the team at a similar power level.

While I think she fits in just fine, she's about 10,000 XP behind the least experienced person in the party.

    Is it always this way?

In theory, if you acquire as little xp as possible before going to Spellhold, then she might actually be higher than the protagonist. I've never been able to accomplish that, however.

Normally, she'll be about a level or two behind your party. Still pretty much meaningless, but 10k xp is nothing to worry about. That's one or two kills of a tough enemy (with a party of six).

Only 10,000? C'mon you can just kick everyone out of your party for a second and have her copy some spells to her spellbook and she'll be fine.
One non-cheesey thing I'll do over the course of a game to keep party balance is just take the average XP of the characters and use CLUAConsole to set their XP equal to each other. I REALLY hate having my party unbalanced.

Anyway, you'll reach XP cap soon when you are in the higher chapters (even if you skipped Amnish quests). Look for 2950000 XP...

    My bad. It's 100,000 XP.

Still not a big deal, she's on par (or close enough) level wise.

    /me shrugs it off

[Considering no one posting in this forum has ToB, what use is your post?] -Tal

Maybe he's just trying to encourage them to get it, or at least make them aware of it.

Actally I'd guess that some of the people here got to this thread by means of the little box on the homepage so it's a good bet that some of them do have TOB.

[What little box on the homepage? The point is that we have a separate forum where SoA+ToB can be discussed. And if I wanted a public discussion on this I'd have replied myself, not just edited his post. If you have something to say to me, hit the PM button.] -Tal
