Win-2000 and NTSF trouble

    I just installed Win-2000 on my comp and I have the problem that I converted two of my drives into NTSF file format.

    Is there any way to convert it back to FAT32? Help would be most welcome.

    The Win98 SE Boot disc can't do that, I can't even see NTSF partitions in DOS. Smart as I am I even formated my back-up drive :roll: :spin: as the two invisible drives just made the Back-up D: drive become the C: and ... :mad:

    Not terrible, just silly - I have a half year old CD, anyway :rolleyes:

    Okay NTFS is a microsoft file format, and without third party additions, dos does not detecet NTFS drives or any of the *nix file formats (EXT, Riesfer).

    The program you are looking for to convert NTFS drives to FAT32 is called partition magic 8 which has the abilities to resize, move and convert all forms of file systems

    As partition magic runs $100 in store you might want to seek an alternative vendor

    not that we would advise looking for dodgy downloads of partition magic or anything ... ;)

    NTFS is also a bit annoying if running linux (dual boot) - it can't write to it (can read it though).

    Partition Magic 8 is the only solution if you don't want to loose your data. Good luck :cool:
