GamingReport has interviewed Charles Ryan, the Brand Manager of Dungeons & Dragons about the recently announced Worldwide Dungeons & Dragons Game Day which is going to be held on Nov. 5th. They talk about his position and duties in Wizards and the event itself. Here's a snip:

Wayne Tonjes: Wizards of the Coast has recently announced this years Worldwide Dungeons & Dragons Game Day to be held November 5th. To get some background on this event, I spoke with Charles Ryan, the Brand Manager of Dungeons & Dragons. Before we start on the event, can you tell us a bit more about yourself?

Charles Ryan: Well, probably the most important thing to know is that I'm a diehard gamer; I started playing D&D in 1979. I became professionally involved in gaming in 1991, when I published my own role playing game, a modern system called Millennium's End. I ran my own business for about eight years, then worked at a couple of mid-sized game companies for a few years before ending up on the R&D staff here at WotC five or six years ago. I moved over to the business side just over two years ago. For a period of about five years in the middle there I was Chairman of the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design (the arm of the Game Manufacturer's Association that administers the Origins Awards). I've been a writer, an editor, and a graphic designer as well as a business manager, and I've worked on RPGs, card games, miniatures games, and fiction-but mostly RPGs. I tend to play rogues or rogue-like characters (in games like Call of Cthulhu, where there aren't character classes), and the game I'm currently running is a post-apocalyptic d20 Modern campaign.
