[IMG] Has anyone read this book? Is it with buying? Does it do anything to enhance the WoT series? Or is RJ out to make a little more $$? My biggest question: If the main story isn't moving along, why go back?

Can someone please fill me in on this book!

I read it and.... I liked it. GASP! IMHO, New Spring shows that Jordan still knows how to tell a good story in a reasonable amount of time. This alone is enough reason to read it; it gave me hope that he'll actually get the story moving again in the next book.

As for the story itself, it's definitely more interesting then essential. It mostly deals with the birth of Rand, and the Tower's attempts to find him. However, it also talks a lot about Moraine and Siuan, about their friendship and how they found their mission, as well as how Moraine met Lan.

    So yeah, I'd reccomend it.

I would also recommend it, even if I am quite annoyed at it. Jordan has published New Spring twice first as a short story and now as a full novel, adding to the short story. I had the collection with the short story so I refused to buy the extended edition. I did however find it in the library and picked it up there, it doesnt add that much interesting to the short story mostly a bunch of talking about things you already know.

New Spring is a class act though but my recommendation is to pick up the short story in one of the Legends collections as all the good stuff is in there and you get a few other good short stories too.
