Would you recommend using AI scripts?

    Or should I just go with vanilla stuff? I'm asking because I'm terribly frustrated with NWN2 AI and hope BG 1 & 2 doesn't suffer from same problem...

    I'd give everyone the "fighter aggressive" or ranged attack script. So they'll start shooting when an enemy gets into missile range although there might be a little delay.
    For spellcasting or special commands pause the game and assign the tasks.
    With a simple click you can turn on/off the AI anytime in the game if you want, this might be useful for scouting with your thief if you have a fighting script activated.

    To be frank I pretty much suck at D&D so I was hoping that AI would do quite a lot you see :)

    Now where can I download this fighter/ranged attack script?

    Fighter/ranged is one of the original scripts IIRC. It should be usable already.

    — Yes, I should recommand A.I. scripts to every one. :)

    A good choice is usually to take "Ranged-attack XXX" for any class, even the Player Character ("XXX" beeing the class of the character). :cool:

    • I remember that, for one or two classes, there NOT exist a ranged-attack option : in this case, take the ranged-attack option of an other class, it is not very important.

    1) With these options set, you can be sure that an forgotten character isn't going to move too foolishly ;

    2) And for the usual fights, ranged attacks are the fair choice in 90% of the situations (and you keep all control, anyway, for chosen moves or casted spells).

    Sometimes, for the thief, I change his A.I. script for a short time, but it is rare ... ;)

    [ Note : If you want a full action of the A.I. scripts, it is probable that you must keep the A.I. Key in the ON choice. ]
