WOW!!!! (Khalid's critical hits)

Something REALLY crazy happened in the final battle...


Khalid killed Sarevok with only THREE, I repeat THREE hits! I almost fainted after I witnessed this. Is it just a REALLY SUPER DUPER bug or does it happen all the time?(I highly doubt that)

You got a screenshot by accident? Did he score three critical hits in succession?

 

Yes! He got three critical hits. That's what I am SO SO SO SO SO SO SO surprised about (I was like this . The 3 hit kill doesn't happen often, right?

 

Actualy, i was pretty suprised at critical hit frequency once you suceed at one.

I remember shooting drizzt with the cheesy tactics, i kept an eye out for critical hits, since i could only hit him with natural 20

As soon as there was one few others followed. I'm not saying it happened every time i criticaled, but there seems to be a much greater chance to score few in succession than on a normal to hit roll.

I've rarely seen more than two critical hits in a row in BGI so I know what you mean, Drizz't took me about 20 minutes, and starring at the screen for that amount of time is very VERY frustrating...

What was he equipped with, and what was the damage?

 

I don't think I've even had two critical hits in a row; not that I can recall, anyhow.

What on earth were his stats and equipment?

 

@ Slayer of the Coast: Frostbrand, Twinkle and Mithril Chain Mail +4

 

I got rid of the Mithril very early on in the game, I think the Full Plate would have been a better choice, but after you have Drizz's Shimys then it doesnt really matter, you could be wearing a frilly pink petty coat and still drop Savvy like a brick! Did he have any gauntlets of weapon expertise or items like? What was his THAC0? (What I really want to see is a screen shot of his stats!)

 

The odds are not that long - 20*20 for 2 criticals in a row thats 400/1. 8000/1 for three criticals in a row.
Sarevok must have been having a bad day or something. Leader of the Iron Throne and child of Bhaal hammered by a stuttering sap.

 

Khalid had Gauntlets of Weapon Expertise, a helmet I got from an ogre mage after my guy talked to Shoal the Nereid, Greywolf's Long Sword, boots of speed, a tome of strength, Koveras' ring of protection, a full plate, potion of haste and a potion of a something giant strength.

 

I'm not sure without looking but with specialisation the critical range could be 19 and 20 on a hit roll. This would lower the probability to 100/1 for a two criticals and 1000/1 for three.

 

That's what happened. Maybe a miracle or something. That's why i wrote "Is it a REALLY SUPER DUPER bug?" on my headline

 

Well somebody had to be lucky enough to have that many criticals and by golly it was you. When you think about it, the number of people who have played it, and the number of times they've hit people it had to happen eventually, it was just ironic that it was against big bro. Quite funny really when you think about it.

 

I still couldn't believe it! This was a once-in-a-lifetime happening. I feel sad that it couldn't happen again

 

It is a well known fact that computers cannot generate random numbers correctly. No computer random number generator is completely random. I always notice if I successfully set a trap i will set the rest but if I fail the first the rest will fail.
