Just as the title states. The wierder the better. What parties have you created that defy or stray the most from fantasy stereotypes (dwarves being gruff fighters, elves being stoic, majestic arcanists, etc).

My moniker (Death Rabbit) actually comes from a character I created once on a whim...a schizophrenic halfling Barbarian. The name, like the concept, had to be something really cute trying to sound all tough and mean - Death Rabbit just seemed to fit. The idea was just so ridiculous I had to give it a shot, and it actually turned out to be pretty fun. I was only going to play him for a few minutes but just couldn't stop and ended up taking him through most of the game. For roleplaying purposes, I gave him the grunting warrior soundset converted from Icewind Dale, and a CHA and INT of 5 each, the logical result of a theory of mine that Bhaal had some serious beer goggles goin' on when he shagged your (the PC's) mother. Totally fun and funny game, that one.

As for parties, I created a badass one a few weeks ago, also on a whim, and partly inspired by the pre-generated parties from IWD2. The result? The bearded ladies. Whud-uuuup. All female gnomes and dwarves (some of which, like the dwarven females, use a male avatar because I guess Bioware never made a female one). 2 fighters, a figher/cleric, a fighter/thief, a straight cleric, and an illustionist (gnome female). All girls, all with beards. Anyone who says this game has no replay value just ain't creative enough, I say.

So let's hear what you've got, or at least any ideas you haven't been drunk enough to try out yet.

    Hit me.

Smacks Death Rabbit upside the head

Now with that out of the way, LOL. My brother made a character actually based on a stupid character idea (at the time) he used in one of our PnP games.

Bunnyrun the Pansy. *insert laugh here*

Yeah, my brother's sick. He was a seven foot tall idiot fighter. This was second ed. before barbarians came back.

Imagine a voice like Monteron's accomplice saying "STOP TOUCHING ME" from BG 1. (yeah, i'm old and can't seem to remember names anymore)
Always seemed to be wearing something pink too LOL. In 3rd ed. we've finally converted him to a barbarian and my lil bro played him with a female voice in TOB. Not sure how it came out but I think the entire game ended up being secondary to all the made up dialogue we had during the campaign.

    He needs therapy. I know.

but of course, I'm an idiot.

I once soloed a half-orc wild mage. The concept was, he wanted to study magic, he was smarter than other half-orcs (but certainly not brilliant) but no one would even consider apprenticing a half orc. So, he had to try to learn magic on his own - hence a wild mage. However, wild magic is, well, wild and since he had a nasty tendency of changing the sex of bystanders he soloed.

I actually was rather fond of that playing experience. Took some work with Shadowkeeper to create him.

Whopp! * blocks MasterPoet's girly slap with mad ninja skill *

That's awesome on the Half-Orc mage.

You guys - I'm actually really surprised! You would think a topic like this, in a game that yields so many character options, more people would have tried something wierd and got creative with their characters. Am I just a nutbar or what? I thought it was fun to get goofy with an otherwise serious game. Why should Minsc hold the monopoly on nutjobs?

Come on - someone else has to have done something wierd, or at least WANTED to try something??

No Death Rabbit, you're not the only nutjob out there. Here's mine - I only hesitated writing it in because it was similar to yours. I didn't do all females with beards, but I did do an all midget party, in which a dwarf was the tallest character in the party. I used halflings wherever possible, but needed at least one mage, and one character with greater than 17 strength. The party rocked actually, but sadly, it's no where near as cool as you female with beards party.

Unfortunately my best strange characters are PnP.

I don't have the adeptness to create them within the confines of programming.

    Some of my favs were:

My female red dragon that the party found while hatching. She imprinted on a 3" fairy in the party, and chased after her yelling "Mama!" She insisted that she must be a fairy like mama, even when she got to be 80' long, and alighting daintily on the barbarian's shoulder became problematic.

An insane drow illusionist who believed her illusions strongly enough that they had a % chance of actually becoming real. Sometimes they worked to the party's advantage... "Nice bridge you made over this bottomless crevasse..." or sometimes not... "Way to go sealing off the cave. Sure, the Duegar can't get in... but now we can't get out...Think you'll be able to dream up an exit before we suffocate, genius?"

Mrs. Ohio Smith (Indiana Jones) whose sole raison d'etre was chasing her philandering husband's trail of carnage. She was a weakling fighter/thief (hot pink leather armor and high heels which kept breaking) with only two strong abilities... a whine that paralyzed every male within shreiking distance, and a godly luck factor which only applied to her and not the rest of the party (Heel breaking just in time to dodge hail of arrows which skewers rest of party.)

Anyhoo, mebbe I'll be technically proficient enough to translate some of that into CRPG characters someday.

    @Tayja:

Classic stuff, I wish I was that creative :p

I'll just have to be happy with my two-handed-sword-wielding gnomish paladin with a facial deformity (Cha 4)

Hmm I remember working with Shadow keeper out of sheer boredom to create a barbarian rabbit. That was sheer boredom though.

I also once used a solar avatar for my pc. Which IMO is the most ridiculous Bhaal Spawn ever. (Solar+Evil gods= wack pound wack, dead evil god (if hes weak) or dead solar.)

Actually thats a good point, on how overpowered BG2 chars get, I mean in this game you whoop ass on a fallen solar. Lesser dieties DIE to these kinds of opponents, but a couple of mortals have no problems killin em off.

I doubt they are in full power when summoned by another mortal.. which they were.

Imagine their power on their own plane when summoned by a real diety... THEN they'd whip up on mortals. However, when you see them, they're summoned by a villain mortal. So, I think they're weakened by that.

but of course, I'm an idiot.

    Paladin, of course.

Based on myself, for the bloody roleplay. I took a test, but then lowered some of the stats that I thought were too big for the real I.

    STR 16
    DEX 13
    CON 12
    INT 16
    WIS 17
    CHA 18

Cavallier subclass. Longsword **, mace **, one weapon style **

I once tried a hafling Wild Sorcerer(using shadowkeeper, set kit to Wild Mage, set class to Sorcerer). It was pretty cool, looking at a hafling blowing stuff to pieces while being itchy... LOL

    @ Death Whisper

You like Kensais so much...I'm sure there's some kind of wacky Kensai you could make. A chicken Kensai would be hilarious. :D

    @ chev

What's so wacky about your paladin? This is about wacky and creative characters.

Sidenote: Don't be surprised if I organize an intervention for you soon. You are WAY to obsessed with paladins. Addicted, I dare say. You need help.

    * group hug, tears... * :p

    @ ywpark89

That kicks ass! I didn't think that would work, but now I may try it. Does it work for specialist mage/sorcerers as well, or does the "wild mage" part just activate wild surges? (just think...a paladin with wild surges... :p )

Wow, I guess I've never seen the true potential in using shadowkeeper to create your wacky characters. These are great ideas!

@Death Rabbit: Stats. Just check the stats keeping in mind that the character is of paladin class.

I still fail to see what's so creative and unusual about it though. A human paladin isn't out of the ordinary at all, and neither are those stats. Atypical maybe, but not ridiculous.

Near as I can tell, the only thing wacky is the CON score. Yes the strength is low, but decidedly not wacky (a 6 would be wacky). Saying this character is wacky is the equivelant of saying you like to "live dangerously" because you don't wait 30 minutes after eating before going swimming. ;)

Or am I missing your humor completely? Please explain.
A little sure of ourselves, are we? 18 Charisma? Now THAT'S humor! ;) :p

LOL, I see your point. No, I'm no surer than most people. In fact it's the only score I'm quite sure of. You don't want to hear about my RL, do you? :)

But here I am to explain the humour. The weird thing about this paladin is that his mental stats are far greater than his physical stats and besides dialogues there's no way he could use them in BG2 apart from some unimportant lesser item identification or shopping prices. What's more, paladins aren't supposed to be intelligent, have dexterity above 9, wisdom above the class minimum (until their beard is longer than their whole body ;) ) or strength much below 18/00.

Also they're either sword and shield style fighters like in pnp stereotype or two-handed style fighters for the sake of Carsomyr. And here you have this single weapon guy with a longsword and no shield, hehe (sort of duellist prestige class touch).

However, the funniest thing is that he cuts fully buffed Anomen into pieces in below twenty seconds (my brother was bored to death a few days ago and had nothing better to do than testing such things ;) ).

Of course in pnp you meet times weirder characters every five metres, but BG2 is severely limited in this regard.

    Gnomish Berserker!

    STR - 9
    DEX - 18
    CON - 18
    INT - 17
    WIS - 8
    CHA - 18

    Dual Wielding: *** Dagger: *****

    Male
    Chaotic Evil

LOL, imagine a tiny gnome flipping out and going yoda on Melissan with two puny daggers and shredding her!!! And an EVIL gnome, bent on pure malice and cruelty!

    Solo, of course.

BTW, mortals? The PC is a demi-god, and most likely immortal.

Also, Idiot of the Week? Considering my posts involved more silliness than stupidity, I question that.

But all I do is consider the judges, and there ya go... :D

Dude, just some friendly advice: Check the Forum FAQ, especially the part about "laying low" when you receive the "Idiot of the Week" award.

(Tal/BTA - I know what the FAQ says about other members dealing with recipients, but I'm not actually mocking him or pointing out a mistake; I'm just reminding him about the FAQ.)
