Yes it's good for fighters, but how many other classes are there? Plus, 10% MR is pretty measley IMHO. It's just enough to mock you. This amulet gives you MR! (psst just 10% though)

Stingy elves. The plus 1 to saves is it's only redeeming quality. I guess it's preference, but I hate poisoning, so I value the Periapt of Proof Against Posioning over that amulet. And you get that a whole lot sooner.

Big B, name one item in the game other than Carsomyr or Purifier (which are both Paladin only) that gives more than +10 MR. I wouldn't call that measley, having an extra 10% can save your butt against the ToB mages. I'd call that pretty significant. Yes, the Periapt against Poison is nice, but I never have a problem with poison once I make it that far in the game, and few enemies use it past that point.

    Just my opinion.

Considering that it lasts for four rounds, yes it is.

[IMG] You know what's REALLY funny, the Elf Queen says "I assume you are EAGER TO CONTINUE YOUR JOURNEYS" at the end of BGII.

[IMG] You save Suldenesselar (sp, Bah). The wonderful and wise queen Ellisme goes: "Hooray, you saved us,but now all the bhall spawn are bieng hunted down, and we fear for our lives beacuse you might go mental on us. So take this necklace and bye bye!". Whereupon you get tossed out the gates and thrown into a grove. And its raining. And you left your umbrella of dryness +3 perched by the tree of life, didn't you? What cruel little elves they are :( .
