    @Enagonios:
Thank you, thank you! I saw the film about 10 years ago and I couldn't remember the title.

I wouldn't call the ones you listed as remote.... So, more on the classic side:

    Sci-Fi/Fantasy: Forbidden Planet
Action: (anything with Steve McQueen is good)
    Midway
    The Great Escape
    The Great Train Robbery
    Twelve O'Clock High
    High Noon
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
    Gallipoli
    Breaker Morant
    Kelly's Heroes
    The Guns of Navarone
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (Kirk Douglas version)
    The Dirty Dozen
    Quigley Down Under

Eng, imo OuaTiM beats Desperado, ghands down, and not just because of the improvesd scenery - to me,t he complexity of the plot and the way the story was wowen was a major :thumb:

I'll concede that the upstart movie had a better ending (because Desperado's ending sucked :sosad: ) and a more convoluted, yet not neccesssarily better, plot :p

oh, just thought of 2 more retro action movies for ya newfie.

He-Man the Movie and The Punisher, both had Dolph Lungdren as the lead and both were iirc pretty good.

I had a lukewarm reaction to it.

Newfie, if you haven't, check out Mad Max and the Road Warrior. Road Warrior is better, but the intro spoils some fairly major stuff in Mad Max, so you probably wanna see 'em in order.
