I'm not using improved invisibility, just the racial invisibility deep gnomes have, potions, and hide in shadows.

I've just beaten Sherincal, mostly at range.

To answer your question; Nope, in my opinion none of the playable characters really look like monks. I would bet this website has utilities which could make your playable character look like whatever you choose.

Oh, well then that's ok. Seriously though, in HoF I don't understand HOW you expect to do much! After you leave Targos all I'm going to say it goodluck!!!

As for the avatar change I'd hope so because normal PC monks look pathetic.

I'm afraid that changing the appearance of the PC i.e. the animation would cause bugs everytime you use an item for which there is no correspounding animation. It's really annoying that the programmers bungled the monk in this game.

There was a way to patch BG2 monk avatar files into IWD2, it was a tedious process, but results are satisfying or so I heard. Ask other guys here!

@nunsbane: How's your solo going? IIRC, you've beaten Sherincal right? I think you're going to start having a bit of a hard time around the time you hit the Wandering Village.

Those Willowisps give me nightmares in normal mode!

Hmm...if only you'd had a wizard along...Wail of the Banshee goes a LONG way in HoF mode! :D But...I have a feeling you might be walking down a path very similar to thetruth! :shake:

WoB actually makes HoF battles TOO easy, unless you are facing undead or exceptionaly tough guys that is.

Fear not the willowisps Faraaz, smite them with a crossbow while staying out of reach of their electrical attack, it's easy with a high level monk. I was able to run in a number of times and hit them with a fist attack and actually stunned one of the death's candles with a stunning attack. It was strange seeing a ball of energy stunned, I didn't think it would work. The beastlord Harshom kicked my butt badly a number of times. In the normal campaign I was invisible when confronting him, charged when he finished talking and killed him with a quivering palm, then I took the key and ran through the door before his posse could kill me. In HoF it didn't work that way. I hit the beastlord with a quivering punch and then was cut down in 3 seconds by his group. In the end I stumbled upon the fact that the umber hulks will attack Harshom. So, It ended up that a few umber hulks did the dirty work of defeating him while I stayed invisible and watched in safety. The white dragons both fell to quivering punches, it is funny seeing a little deep gnome pimp slap a white dragon into submission. The eight chambers may very well be impossible in HoF with a single monk. After many attempts at the very first chamber I decided to go and hit the new leader of the monastary, Salisam, with a quivering punch and just take the key by force. Currently I'm in the process of eliminating the driders.

So you feel kinda corrupted? Poor monks in the monastery...and you did not qualify as a real monk!

Ehm, no way, congratulations indeed, I am really suprised you made it that far. Beastlord and his despicable crones kept slaughtering my entire party for a good 10+ times when I first was playing through the HoF. :wail:

@nunsbane: Dude...are you thetruth under a different screen name?

Faraaz: nope, I've only participated in the forum for a couple of months and always under the nunsbane screen name.

Edit: The driders are exterminated and the elder brain is a gooey mess, I'm on my way to Kuldahar.

Since my last update I've given final peace to the restless corpses menacing Kuldahar. The undead were surprisingly easy to clear out, the wights, black archers and etheral black ghosts did not pose a mortal threat only the wight lords caused me distress. The yaun-ti were very tough and frustrating so I led them all to Iselore and then used the racial invisibility to opt out of the festivities. It was kind of lame because the yaun-ti did not fight with Iselore - they just stood there while Iselore cast destruction, searing orb, and mold touch until, eventually, the enemies had all perished (not that it would have mattered if the yaun-ti did attack him, he has the heartstone gem). I was at the 29th level so I believe that the monk was invisible for 14 1/2 minutes; during which time I went to get coffee. I repeated this process a few times until the snakes were gone. Then I went and used Cheopek for target practice ..... about 140 times with +5 bolts. Then I let Iselore do the lion's share of the work in the very long battle after Cheopek by staying invisible and resting, during the battle, at the tower under Nathaniel's watchful eye. Then I was off to dragon's eye were I cleared the ice salamanders from the narrow walk-way and discovered that the nasty trap in that area could be disarmed using the skull on a stick to the right of the path. all the times I had gone to the entrance of dragon's eye I had somehow never noticed it. Currently, I have most of the first level of dragon's eye cavern cleared out and am soon on my way to the second level.
