    @Revmaf:
Absolutely. Posting at this site allows me to bring out my inner geekiness. Down with "poseurs!"

No offense meant towards those that scored under that option, of course...

Just a few percentiles short of being a poser. If it had asked more Terry Pratchett, Forgotten Realms and Ebberon type questions rather than the standard Star Trek and Star Wars I'd probably be a much greater geek.

How does wanting a lightsaber make you a geek? Anyone would want a method to smite ones enemies with abandon... right?

Ditto with everything you said except the Eberron.

    Yeah, I wanna be a lightsaber-wielding Sorcerer ;)

But I guess I do have geekish tendencies, last Sunday, after a game with my soccer buddies I asked "Anyone here play Rome: Total War? Because I need some help" and everyone started laughing

Whenever I watch 'Beauty and the Geek', the males on that show seem to perfectly match the mental images I have of most of the males on this site. I know it's probably not true, but stereotypes are hard to budge (especially that guy who labels his profession as 'Dungeon Master').

If there were more SCA questions, I'dve scored higher...LOL I've been in for over half my life now (Will have been in for 19 years two weeks from now) and was the baronial exchequer which is only slightly less insane than being seneschal.

...but I did take the test while actually conversing with another human being...that should probably lower my score a bit

What is this SCA thing you keep talking about? Must be something I'm not even geeky enough to have heard of.

39.25% ...I think that's pretty good. Except, some of those things like 'Programming a Calculator' I HAD to do. And, since I need Biology/Chemistry in my profession (I'm a Nurse...) I'm pretty sure I know a fair few element symbols.

It's not fair. Still, if I can say 'Thac0 for life!', I admit that I'm a little bit geeky. 39.25% to be exact.

SCA stands for The Society for Creative Anachronism.

And just to point out, I'd've also scored higher if I understood math/science and programming better.

My nephew just called to say he scored 48% and some fraction, so he is a Super Geek. I have not heard from my sister the systems manager. Maybe she's not going to tell me.

So... I always listened to music that others didn't like. Why would that make me a geek? It always seemed to me that your average Joe Geek would listen to some kind of metal. I usually don't fancy that...

@MoN - well, metal would be geeky before it became popular with the 'norms' (Metallica topping the charts in the early 90's, etc). Some geeks listen to Metal (I did and still do), others listen to the Smiths, or the Sex Pistols, or Tori Amos, or Nine Inch Nails, or Morrisey, or Bjork, or Wayne Newton, or Bach, etc. etc.

The true 'alternative' music that just isn't popular (and no, Nirvana and the grunge scene stopped being alternative when the mainstream assimilated it...it may have returned to geek-eligibility now, I don't follow the scene) tends to be adopted by geeks.

Exactly; embrace your Inner Geek, grasshopper; know the geek, be the geek. :geezer:

    ;)

I know a lot of people who are anything BUT geek and they listen to rather alternative music.
But very well, I'll embrace my inner geek, but with only 5.9% I have much less to cuddle than you. :( ;)
