Yup - the festival of Jupiter was usurped by the church to draw in more converts!!

A size 14 shoe?!?!?! That's pretty damn impressive. I'm only a 13. But my ring size is 14...weird, huh?

What's weird is that you guys actually know your ring size. :p

And Mat, you're getting your brother one of the coolest gifts I ever heard of, and your sister gets a crummy bracelet? It better be diamond-encrusted 24 carat gold, or someone's gonna be jealous! :p

[IMG] The only reason I know is that I had a ring made for me last year when I graduated from law school...It's not like I size myself weekly or anything. :p

I've given the parents a list of what I want, including a Freeview digital box ;)

But since turning 20 it's been socks and perfume. Does this happen to everyone when they turn 20?

@ Shell - Well I am now 28 and I still receive computer games and fantasy books for Christmas, but being a guy may help in this regard.

Oh, and I have never received perfume either. ;)

    :yot:

The cool binoculars can be found here for all interested parties.

Is it just me, or is the worst part of the holidays figuring out everyone's schedules? My wife's family, mine, friends, work ... hard to keep together.

Math, I agree with Sir Bel - go with the nickle-plated pistol except give it to her one bullet at a time. She may not want any more than 2 or 3. I figure that would be about half what my ex would want so it should be plenty for most non-demon-spawn women.

Anyway, I don't do Christmas either - I don't have my son so what's the point?

BTW, anyone wanting to get me anything should look into hitmen...

Hmm, I wonder if I could manage to persuade my millionaire aunt tto give me a katana for Christmas?

    Not likely.

My dad has promised to ask her to finance me a good 'net connection for my 18th birthday, however :D

I'm ready and raring to go. :D I love Christmas time, more than Christmas itself actually. And I love buying presents for people, always lots of fun. So far though (since it's not even Halloween yet) I only have my Dad's present bought. It's a book (I have a tendency to buy everyone books) but I can't say which one in case he reads this. Other than that I'll probably get my sister a cd (so she'll stop borrowing mine) and probably... books for both my brothers. Hmmm I need to be more creative. And I have NO idea what to get for my Mom as the only books she reads are generally Star Trek books and I'm anti-Star Trek. :borg: Outside of my family I think I'm getting two color guard members special twirling ribbons for college (I'm still sort of debating that) and possibly anime/manga SOMETHING for another C.G. member. And as for my best friend, I'm mostly out of ideas (it is only October) because she doesn't like fantasy  And I got her flute sheet music last year... I think something up. I hope

For those that couldn't see through my bitterness, I actually forgot to add this - ;) - to my post concerning guns, anyway, we usually do the family thing on Boxing Day (the day after Christmas in case some of you don't know) because that's my late grandfather's birthday and it's been a tradition so that the rest of the family can spend Cristmas with THEIR extended families.

Still no point without my son though. Father's Day is worse.

Aside from gifts for eachother, my wife and I are pretty much done Christmas shopping. We basically start the week after Christmas when everything goes on sale. We carry a list of everyone we need to buy a gift for, when we buy something, we check that name off the list. My problem is I can't go out to a store with the specific task of buying a gift for someone. It never works and the gifts always suck.

[IMG] Just starting to think of what to buy... Spending my christmas with relatives -good thing considering my poor student's budget. :(

Parents: a box of candies, maybe, or a decorative ship (in a bottle).

Other relatives: a box of chocolade.
