I see Australia have started winning again against England. I told you Gilchrist would start the series quietly and then build up. What an innings.

    Bring on the Ashes.

Time for a bit of a gloat, after our previously shocking form. Australia just eee-nihilated England in the final, with eight wickets and fifteen overs to spare.

For the folks who don't understand cricket, that's so far in front in a 50-over game that it would be akin to a soccer side deciding to take off their forwards and wingers with 20 minutes to go and not replace them, or a baseball team deliberately striking out from the 7th inning onward. THAT'S the Australian side we've come to expect.

Of course, that will mean nothing in the Test series. Still, hopefully this series will be interesting, unlike the last... how many in a row? I've lost count.

To the foolish commentators who announced, "Well played, Canada!" after our first loss... well, you can just check the scoreboard that says England got destroyed when it mattered. Just goes to show what having a pace bowler take a cheap shot at a player on a dead ball can do for a team's motivation.

    You'd be right, HB.

Were it not for the attitudes of some of the British commentators, I'd only be relieved that we won, not exuberant that we shut them up. However, because of that, I feel obliged to stick it to them; despite our horror start to the series, they still couldn't get the job done.

Of course, when Gilchrist really gets going, you can't do much except move the boundary rope.

Now for the Ashes tests... I am actually looking forward to them, since I do now see England as a credible threat. This should be good cricket to watch.

It's strange, because we'd pretty much had Gilchrist sussed. A waist high ball close to him seemed to tie him up and he edged to the 'keeper. I lost count of the amount of 'Gilchrist XX c G Jones, b Harmison.

Unfortunately, when it came to playing against a motivated Australia with the wind under their sails, on a flat pitch with a quick outfield, we were found wanting.

Again, though... Tresco and Straussy split up well within 10 overs. Worrying!

Our performance was generally poor, all round yesterday. The batsmen were poor ('cept Big Kev and Sol). The bowlers were poor and the captaining was poor. I thought taking Simon Jones out, instead of the Dazzler was a wrong decision. It pains me to say it, but the Dazzler has finally had his day, whereas S Jones is bowling aggressively, with emphusiasm and new-found pace.

I'll post more later. I have to go. Expect me ranting later on ;) .

His hair is embarrassingly bad. It's even worse than Beckham's alice band phase.

You can subtract one from that count that you lost because he definitely walked on one occasion.

Hopefull we can see a few well ballanced matches soon (but not draws).

Lol, Pietersen's hair is fine. I actually really dig Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnsen's hair!
