bah, I think both answers are equally good, none of them can be trashed from the description of the riddle and basicly they're the same thing

Ok, the house within a house thing is giving me a headache (but I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with house, I just have to figure out what the 'houses' represent), so here's a couple more to keep things going.

(1) What letter comes next in this sequence? O, T, T, F, F, S, S, ?

(2) I am as light as a bird and as lovely as a flower.
I sometimes last from year to year and sometimes but an hour.
