    He was a ****ty fighter! who would want to have him on your party when every fighter in the game is far better than him! nostalgia from Bg1? pick Xan, instead!

    You guys are all forgetting that in BG2, the BG1 npcs are a lot cooler. Look at Imoen in BG1, "You're a queer fellow", "You're all buffle heads", "Let's nick a whole purse of fun". She's HORRIBLY annoying in BG1, but she's a different person in BG2. Same with Jaheria, who was intolerable in BG1, but is pretty cool in BG2. Khalid likely would have recieved the same type of personality overhall, although he'd still remain nothing but a mediocre fighter. For a really interesting twist, Irenicus could have changed him with his experiments, but not gotten far enough to have eliminated his mind, so he'd still be committed to your party. Some sort of ghoul would be an interesting party member indeed.
