In a side that has the biggest rotation system in English football, that's an impressive appearance record.
Ask José Mourinho which players he would least like to lose, and I would be willing to bet that it's John Terry and Frank Lampard...

Anyway, good result for Liverpool the other night. But Leverkusen were poor. Landon Donovan the biggest US 'soccer' talent ever? He was pretty poor.

Shame to see Arsenal go out, but they weren't good enough to beat Bayern to be fair.

They are an important part of the team right now but Chelsea have and can manage without them.

All these talk about how other teams look great on paper really doesn't mean anything when it comes to championship match, ie France in last World Cup. It is the team that had an unforgettable match that the most chances to win the championship, ie Greece in last Euro Cup. What is more unforgettable than overcoming Olympiakos with 3 goals after 2 goals behind?

Too bad about Barcelona, I hoped they might make it a little further. On the balance, though they didn't deserve it - Ronaldinho's second goal was incredible, but Puyol was as sluggish as anything. Just not good enough.

Mourinho is just awesome, his track record as a coach is better than my championship manager records when I cheat. Building a rocksolid team in the first year in a new club with immense demands upon you and players from all over the world. If he isnt the best coach ever I dont know who is.

I dont think it is overly defensive and "cowardly", it is a rock solid team which relentlessly punish every mistake the opponent make, and with Robben in the side there is a large touch of magic as well.

Robben...i almost forgot about him. All those millions for a player made out of wax. Chelsea won't enjoy him very much, he'll be sidelined with one injury after the other, that much is clear to me now. It's been like that since the start of his career. The guy isn't build right, or he doesn't take very good care of his body, so many injuries for such a young player isn't right.

Fair point Pac man. When he was fit this season though, he looked incredible and really gave Chelsea an extra cutting edge. I think he was quite similar traits to Wayne Rooney. Strong, fast, creative, eye for goal and a certain spark to pull something magic out of the hat every now and again. If he gets regular full fitness, he'll be one of the best players in the Premiership, I have no doubt.

Though he does appear to be made of glass...

I think i see a pattern there too. Robben is a really fast guy, and we had similar type of players in the Netherlands, like Overmars and Zenden. They always seem to pull their hamstrings, at least sooner than lesser fast paced players. So the faster they are, the bigger the chance of an injury. Something to look into for the medical world.

And didn't Ryan Giggs have similar kind of injuries in the past ?

Well true, but that's coincidence with those players you named I think mate.
Very fast players who don't pick up hamstring injuries could be named just as quickly. I mean, Thierry Henry is probably the fastest player in Europe, I've never known him to have a serious injury.

But yeah, I agree, Robben has been known to be injury prone, which can be a waste of money when you are spending £50k+ a week for someone to sit on the treatment table. Still a great player when he's fit though.

Not sure about all that. But it's a fact that no other man can claim to be worldchampion as a player AND as a coach than Franz Beckenbauer. What has Lucescu ever won ?

Sounds Romanian to me, and with the exception of Steaua Bucarest, no Romanian team ever accomplished anything noteworthy.

So i guess he's pulling our plonker. :D

Sad News: Anders Frisk resigned as a referee. Because of threats by Chelsea hooligans directed at him and his family.

    Brainless...
