WC quali game just played and holland won in romania with 0-2 but I'm guessing mourinho won't be happy to see Robben once again injured. 23 minutes in the game and it was over, ankle this time and it doesn't look good.

Pffft Robben... that guy is made out of wax. I think Ryan Babel is gonna be a big one though.

England beat Northern Ireland by a comfortable margin of 4-0.

England annoy me. With the world class quality at out potential, we should be winning things. Pah.

At the next World Cuyp, football will come home ;) .

IIRC this is what you were singing in the Euro '96 until the Germans kicked you out of the tournament :p .

You mean until the Germans jammed their way into a penalty shoot-out? And everyone knows the way shoot-outs the Germany go....

By the way, England sing that song a nearly every international game they play ;) .

It doesnt matter who sings what, on German soil we're the boss, on and off the pitch, just like in '88. :D

I love the selective memory of football fans. You remember 1988 but not 1974 :p .

Of course we remember '74, we also remember '78, '94, '98, 00 and hopefully '06.

Of course in '88 we finally won and the death of Michels (trainer that time) just remembered us lately.

Oh i remember 74 quite good, we were the boss then as well, just a moment of temporary insanity that cost us the worldtitle. Any objective person should admit that we were the best back then, and introduced a complete new style of football in the world. Unfortunately the best not always wins, and even crap footballteams sometimes get a little sunshine.

You should know, you're from a country with a crap footballteam. :D

I agree that you introduced total football in 1974 (as far as national teams are concerned, because Ajax had introduced it two years earlier) but the boss is the final winner and you were unlucky since you had to face the best German team ever in their home. Also, I believe that you certainly deserved to be world champions in 1978 and you have every right to complain about this world cup.

As far as the national greek team is concerned, certainly it is team boring to watch if you are not a fan, a crap team as you say but, like or not champions of Europe until 2008 :D .

How's Charisteas doing in the national team ? Since he came to Ajax he scored only one or two goals as far as i know, so i don't think he'll be back on next year's roster.

In the five games of the world cup qualifying round so far, he has scored two goals, both against Kazakstan. Anyway, Charisteas is just a good striker, nothing special, you can find hundreds like him in Europe.

Chelsea did extremely well i think. :D It's too soon to write Munich off though, Germans are only defeated when after the final whistle has blown. That penalty, which definitely wasn't one, will keep their spirits up.

I'm not giving a penny for Liverpool's chances, Juventus are masters in scoring one goal and then build a wall around their goalkeeper.

PSV still has an interresting match ahead of them, with Lyon in the position of having to score at least one goal. They haven't been in that position before this year, and PSV has shown to have a great deal of patience so far, should be an interresting match.

AC Milan is as good as in the semis, i don't see them blow a 2-0 lead anymore.

On a Europacup sidenote, AZ just won with 2-1 in a
away match vs Villa Real, which in my opinion is a remarkable prestation. That's a half final place in sight if you ask me.

Fantastic result for AZ. Two away goals as well, very, very good. Quite surprising really.

Definitely a semi-final place looming. Hopefully, Newcastle can get there too. They beat Sporting Lisbon 1-0 just now... should have been 2-0, but for a dissallowed goal for reasons known only to the ref. But hopefully they can get a result in the away fixture.

Feyenoord must be in supershape then, since they managed to beat the hell out of AZ last sunday. The 4-2 wasn't an incident either, they simply overran AZ on all cylinders. I was hoping for it, but not really expecting it.
