I reckon Villa Real would have beaten Feyenoord easily though, it's all a matter of priorities. Besides, feyenoord gained back it's trust and winning in the 'kuip' has never been easy.

I see... well i guess they would have beaten Ajax easily as well then eh ? :D That's the second spanking in one week time for AZ. You mentioned something about priorities....prey tell...is it AZ's priority to miss out on CL next year ? :D

If you watched the game with an objective eye, you can only admit that AZ's defenders had absolutely no answer to the speed of both Kalou and Kastelen. They were overrun on both sides of the pitch. Something similar happened again today against Ajax.

Who would have expected Ajax to get out of that hole so soon (I'm a big Ajax fan BTW). Six beautiful goals though and a nice game to watch. Thursday will be the decisive match for AZ, Co already underdogged by saying there are three matches in the season you can lose. Which he accidentily did: 1-5 2-4 2-4.

I'm more interested in wednesday and thursday. When dutch clubs play in Europe, I'm for the Dutch club no matter if it's the archrival.

seems like the dutch are taking over this thread :)

it´s always nice to see people talking about feyenoord and ´de kuip´ and such on an international forum, finally something close to my home :D

@ pac man: you really think AZ won´t make it to the CL next year? My guess is that AZ won't be very strong next year, all the real good players will go to richer clubs in England and South-Europe, so AZ won't get far in the CL anyways :(

Well, let's just say that it would be better for the Netherlands if AZ doesn't make it to the CL. Why ? Because the keyplayers will all be playing somewhere else next year i'm afraid. Why do you think Arrigo Sachi was watching the game last week ? Real Madrid is going on another shoppingspree, and one or two AZ players are on their wishlist.

AZ won't be able to field a decent team next year i'm afraid, unless they buy some good replacements but that won't be easy. Feyenoord on the other hand will probably keep their team intact, and already have a well balanced team that can only get better. The Netherlands would be better off if represented by Feyenoord next year, or maybe even Ajax, but i don't even want to think about that last option. :D

Surprising turn of events, PSV semis, AZ semis and Newcastle beaten by Sporting Portugal. Pity really I would have loved to see AZ playing Newcastle, both because of the playing style and IMO AZ would have had more chance against Newcastle.

Kudoos by the way for Liverpool, together with PSV they are the outsiders, but nonetheless anything can happen at this stage.
