The way I look at it is, it's your game and you should play it any way that helps you enjoy the experience.

I personally was taught at a very young age to "do my very best at everything I do", with no regard to what the task is. So, that is why my Kensai/Mage has 18/00 Str., 18 Dex., 16 Con., 18 Int., 18 Wis. and 8 Chr.

(rolled - not hacked: in about 3 min.)

Some would call this "power gaming", I call it, "trying my best" to make a powerful character that can beat the game by himself.

    Which he has...magnificently.

The battles Anorath had between Kangaxx and The Twisted Wizards in their Twisted Rune, among others, should be put in the history books.

And I don't know if it's just that the Kensai/Mage spoiled me but, I have created several other solo quests and none of the characters can handle every situation like Anorath did so exquisitely.

I've tried dualling an Assassin/Mage, I've made a Half-Orc Berzerker, a F/M/T (too level limiting), and a Priest of Helm/Mage and they just can't do it alone.

Oh well, this post is starting to ramble.
    You get the idea.

I agree Sorl. What are the main stats we care about? Everyone can use a high dexterity and strength. High constitution is nice but not really necessary. Intellegence/Wisdom, if you're a Mage/Cleric then yes you need them, if you're a warrior type then who cares. Charisma - that is just the extra points that you put into the other stats when you create a character.

I think there should be more consequences to lower stats. Low charisma - NPC's leave the party or question your leadership.
A warrior with low intelligence - accidently cleaves the arm off your wizard because he didn't recognize him.
Low wisdom - make the puzzles and riddles more difficult

    Just some ideas.

I've had the same thoughts myself, although in BG1 there were consequences for a HIGH charisma. One example from the beginning in Candlekeep, you would get a magic dagger for doing some guy a favor if you had 18 charisma, just some gold otherwise...

[IMG] I think with lower Charisma you should not be able to have any romances!
