I'm glad that one of the most important countries of Europe (together with England and France), Germany, still isn't much under the influence of the upcomming right in political Europe.

Ragusa, you can't post a single thought without an American slam, can you? I think you've got issues, dude. Did an American boff your girlfriend or steal your lollipop or something?

[IMG] *laughs* I support Ragusa being himself, too. Life would be a lot less interesting if he weren't... :p

About political assassination: It's bad, 'nuff said! If you are opposed to a policy you fight the ideas, not the person. Fortuyn IS likely to be turned into a martyr, too, I agree (people who probably didn't like him overmuch before must be going, "But he didn't deserve THAT...hmmmm.") And the policies represented by the party who commit the murder will probably lose a great deal of credibility.

In my opinion that form of political protest is a bit TOO blatant. Then again I'm anti-death penalty and believes that everybody has the right to life, so some of the Americans on the boards may not agree with me too much.

(Sorry!! That was a crack at the death penalty, not the United States. Honestly, I am NOT anti-American. According to my family and friends, I think like an American...well, it's probably true. But what I know is that I certainly don't think like a Greek. :p)

[IMG] /me blushes ... I feel honoured Tiamat  :spin:

Referring to the murder of Pim Fortuyn ... I recently heared that the killer is an animal rights fanatic. Pim Fortuyn wanted to allow fur-farming and intensive lifestock farming in the netherlands again. That obviously made him crack. Just imagine:

    • DIE! FOR THE RIGHTS OF THE HAMSTERS!

Well, as a motive for murder this IMO is pretty weak, so I'd rather call this the simple deed of a simple maniac rather than a proper political murder  though I somehow feel this may be just hairsplitting ;) Unlike a real terrorist this man is just a loonie.
