Hmm, Viconia doesn't strike me as the thiefly sort in the slightest. I'd make her a fighter/cleric if anything, but a cleric is supposed to be partially a fighter anyway.

 

I've fancied to do this by myself but I think I saw some years ago in some (modding)forums (I really can't recall where) warning about altering the NPC's class or attributes. Oh well, I might be totally wrong in this.. So I like to ask anyone who have done this:

1st Have you guys ecountered any bugs via changing NPC's class? Are romances or any other NPC related stuff changed?

2nd If you change ex. Yoshimo to fighter does his class specific saving throws change too?

 

No, changing an NPC's class shouldn't affect any of their basic dialogs or romances. Offhand, I can't think of any NPC dialogs that check the speaker's class. And yeah, saving throw/THAC0/etc progression will change if you change a character's class.

 

Viconia would make for a nice C/F. Somehow her shouts during battle call for that, methinks.

Aerie on the other hand should be a pure cleric. Her C/M-ness makes her an awesome power, but arcane magic just wont fit my idea of her. It's too devastating. I mean Aerie turning others into shriveled husks a la ADHW? Splashing acid all over them or incinerating them for a change? Skulltrap, Vampiric Touch? Imprisoning them deep beneath the sunny surface? That gentle flower??

Nah.

She would fare better as a pure priest that is all about healing and protecting.

 

...and cleric/mage is an illegal multiclass for an elf, besides. But I think it's supposed to be because Quayle is a cleric/illusionist.

Then again if she was supposed to take after Quayle, then she should've been a neutral evil, offensive little git.

 

Actually, Mazzy makes an incredibly good candidate for demi-paladinhood. Basically, they're F/Cs with paladin-like powers, and I think Mazzy would be perfect for this. Shift her points into cleric weapons (for engine restrictions only), especially sling, and she's exactly what she should be.

I still prefer her as a kick-a$$ fighter, though.

Oh, I should've mentioned that the saving throws and stuff don't switch over immediately - they'll fix themselves at the character's next level up.
