fake tree, fully decorated. lots of glass xmas figurines and singing statues of santa and frosty the snowman and crap like that. barbie dolls dressed up as a makeshift "3 kings come to jesus in the stable" scene. and the things i hate most of all: xmas lights. damn things are a fire hazard. just 2 nights ago they caused another fire and killed a 16 year old girl. im trying to get my mom to remove the xmas lights, don't know why we need the damn things anyway :/

Real tree went up today (what's the fun in fake trees? :p ). Not many decorations up yet, and the tree is looking a bit ... well, pathetic.

I think that some of us are forgetting where some people live, I can't blame HB, because he would probably hove to import a tree or something.

But Splunge? Dude, CAN-A-DA. Trees everywhere.

German Christmas Traditions <<<<The passages about "Germany's Tannenbaum" and "Advent and Other Customs" give information about the Christmas tree in germany.

Also, the tradition of christmas trees appears to have come from germany. Read about it here

And, even if we DID put the tree up earlier, there would not be any presents under it yet, because the Christkind comes on Christmas Eve (24th of December), and brings the presents. Here, you also get to open the presents on that same evening.

    :)
