Back to topic.... I enjoy the variety in the game. I never play a kit as a PC I can already find in the game in an NPC.

Oh yes, I also don't play Beastmaster or any type of druid as the PC -- just doesn't fit my personality. I've never even wanted to try the Wizard Slayer (although SP'ing Sarevok as a WS might be interesting).

Jaheira can be made so much better that I did not consider her with the thread but I do understand what you mean. multi-class or such as Jaheira or even dual class it's easy to make a better one. I did not consider her in the spirit of the thread. The only reason I can think of not to make such a PC honestly is her romance, which is a popular one, though I myself seem to have a thing for Romancing Viconia so Jaheira doesn't usually come into play for my choices on what my PC is. I tend to be more of a mage player than Druid player anyway. At least I was....

I play like you do, Aldeth. I'll almost never play a class that an NPC has covered already.

Thus, I almost always play some multi-classed character. With ToB installed, you really can't go wrong here (more than 1 HLA pool to choose from... sign me up!).

The only times I can remember an exception and that I had a ton of fun was with a Kensai > Mage (this was very early on, and I did ditch the character for a F/Ill multi, much better), a Wild Mage, a Blade (HD annoys the frag out of me) and a Sorcerer.

Or just give your PC a mod-kit. This will make sure he will be always UNIQUE (as a Child of Bhaal) and will prove much more variety, and you can get any NPCs.

My recent PC is a Druidic Sorcerer, aka:Mystic Theurge, NO NPC can compete with him in any manner. That feels great! :thumb:
