He's the self-absorbed red dragon on the fourth level of Watcher's Keep.

    @Deathmage,

IIRC, Dragon's Breath is a 20d10 fireball. Also in the description of the spell, they say that the spell conjures a disembodied head of an adult red dragon.

@Rastor - I just started with the watchers keep for the first time now and have just completed the first level so that must be the only dragon I haven't encountered. Or is there more? Have finished ToB.

I just love dragon's breath. Dunno why, but it feels like it affects more enemies than comet. If you have a fighter/mage with robe of vecna and amulet of power, improved alacrity and a few of these takes out everything. ;)

Okay, Dragon's Breath does indeed do fire damage so I doubt it would do anything to the Red Dragon. I tried this on Fire Giants today.

I use Dragon's Breath, because nearly everyone who cant' save vs. spell dies, also those who can save dies with a carsomyr or crom faeyr.

Saladrex is on the 4th level of Watcher's Keep (level w/ Machine of Lum the Mad); the 2nd dragon, who's name I've forgotten and I think is a green dragon, is on the 5th level as one of the "tests".

You do not have to fight Saladrex in order to advance, though he does have treasure that includes an item that Cespanar can use to create a weapon. The 2nd dragon you have to fight in order to advance.

The second dragon is named 'Dragon'.

I've always liked comet better. It seems like dragon's breath isn't useful enough because it does do fire damage. Comet does not, and even the tough enemies seem to fail the save.

Seriously people, think of how much better it looks when you have this huge dragon appearing to rain firey death upon your foes than a simple measly comet...

Yup, Dragon's Breath is much cooler.
And with Robe of Vecna and Amulet of Power it has 0 casting time. With Improved Alacrity, this thing is able to kill anything. My sorcerer had most of the kills, since he got this beauty.

I mostly uses Dragons Breath, dont know why. =D

"You know, I have never thought to use dragon's breath against a dragon.

I wonder, though, would it do all much damage to a red dragon, say Saladrex, if any damage at all? I also wonder if it would blow the dragon away like it does to other enemies. My guess would be that it doesn't but since I haven't tried it out yet, I could be wrong."

    Dragons whont be blown away.

Okay two questions, not worth starting a new thread, about Vecna. How much does it decrease casting speed and where do I get it?

    Improves csting speed by 4.
Buy it from the bonus merchant in Adventurer's Mart.
It's expensive, but worth it, although some people consider it cheesy (not me, though).

[IMG] This definitely should have been a separate topic. Don't try to conserve space here, there's plenty. If you have something unrelated to the original post to discuss, open a new thread.
