Confirm some movie sequels?

the Indy 4 rumours are doing well... first all we knew was "They're making Indy 4" then i read a thread a week ago on another forum saying "indy 4 is delayed/stalled because lucas is an ass who thinks he can write and direct".

 

I've been to IMDB, I actually go there regularly but it doesn't have anything on some of them (like Easy Rider 2 & Gladiator 2).

I also heard about Leping Tiger, Flying Dragon - sequel to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon of course - but can't find anything on that either.

Heard about Alien 5 a while ago and apparently it's set on earth. Also heard something a while ago about Evil Dead 4 but not found anything on that either.

Definitely looking forward to The Chronicles of Riddick and whatever the one after is (I heard Vin signed on for 2 sequels), Blade 3, Spider Man 2 and 3 and I head last night that Pierce has been sacked as Bond in film #21.

 

Is Shrek 2 out yet? I really loved the first one. I hope they still have the same cast.

Indianna Jones 4, I've heard about this since 2 years ago or even more. They initially even wanted to have Sean Connery in the cast. It was old news that I already given up waiting for it.

 

AFAIK, Sean Connery *is* in the cast for Indy IV. Unless that's the debated part of the script

 

Actually, it's Aliens vs. Predator, and it's supposed to come out this August. [edit - just did a search, turns out Sigourney Weaver and Ridley Scott are currently working out the details for Alien 5. Swank. But AVP will be the next in the Alien franchise. ]

The next blade movie is called Blade: Trinity, and will come out Spring 2005 IIRC. This plot involves Abraham Whistler's daughter, whom he said in the first movie was killed by a vampire (dum dum duuuum!). Can't wait. Too bad the title hints it will be the last Blade movie.

 

Not yet, but they are already working on Shrek 3, which will be set in Camelot with King Arthur and whatnot.

I can't say that I really think much of either that decision or the inclusion of Dracula. I really never cared for how Dracula as portrayed by Marvel, hopefully they will do better in the film but I am not setting my expectations very high for this one.

Saw on TV last Friday night the "Australian Premiere" of the Shrek 2 preview. Looks awesomely cool - Puss In Boots is an assassin! Anyway, due out here sometime in June I think.

Yes, Mike, Cameron and Eddie are back, John Cleese is in, and I read back when production first started that John Lithgow would be back as Lord Farquaad.

Oh, and Zorro 2 is on the way as well, with Sir Anthony Hopkins back as Don Diego De La Vega!

How can Anthony Hopkins play Zorro again. The movie is supposed to be about him when he became Zorro. And Hopkins is old.

What Hollywood won't do to kill a good movie with a sequal.

BTW, in Shrek 2, Puss In Boots is voiced by Antonio Banderas, which I think really fits.

 

Mad Max IV was due to start filming in the middle east this year in fact but the outbreak of the war in Aphganistan and Iraq screwed things up.

The propsed sequel to Gladiator will have none of the original cast and not be directed by Scott. It is an entirely new story(well, if you define "story" as butchering the legacy of a great film by throwing together a non-sequential sequel to capitalise on the popularity of the original).

My sister works at a theatre and they already have the Aliens vs. predator, Spiderman 2 posters up.

Rocky vs. Robocop: Sly and Peter Weller both realize their careers are in the crapper and decide to join forces and beat the crap out of each other on screen!

Judge Dredd vs. Cobra vs. Rambo : Stallone is not throwing his eggs all in one basket. In this film, john Rambo again embarks on a crime spree because he is a tormented viet nam vet, but a time traveling Jedge Dredd and the lead character from the worst cop movie ever made decide to join the party, only to end up fighting over who gets to kill Rambo!

Stallone does Jean Claude one better by playing all three roles.

 

@Jaguar - Don't know how Hopkins can play Zorro again, though he was actually Zorro only at the start of The Mark Of Zorro. It may follow on with Antonio as Alejandro/Zorro again or it may have him die and Don Diego train someone else...no idea.

As for killing movies with sequels, I'm glad no-one has yet decided to destroy the sheer joy that was Unbreakable with a sequel. It fits (almost) into the 'superhero' genre so it's a possibility.

Why the hell would anyone make an Evil Dead 4??- They will ruin the trilogy? If made it has to have Bruce Campbell in it.

There kinda needs to be an Evil Dead 4 because Ash is stranded 100 years in the future so it would be good to show him kickin butt and taking names in the future for good or finding a way back to his own present. And of course Bruce has to be in it. There IS no other Ash.

 

There was two endings to it. there was the future stranded ending and the one where he gets home and kills a witch ina dept. store he works in. Hail to the King, Baby!

 

But the witch was in the end of Evil Dead 1 wasn't she? I've only seen the 'stranded in the future' end to Army Of Darkness either way.

Oh. and "Be Cool" is coming as well - Travolta is back as Chili Palmer in the sequel to "Get Shorty"
