It's no the gems, that much I can tell you right now, hehe.

But from the posts I've read I didn't really get the impression that many would start seeing this same problem at the same time I did, so I must conclude that there was no "universal" change that would make most people go without the automatic login. And since I can't afford to remove the pop-ups, I guess I'll just have to experiment with cookies and see if I can set them to last... Oh well.

And btw Gnolyn, you should only get two pop-ups every so many hours (I don't remember what I set the timer to, either 3 or 6 hours).

Thanks Tal. Since I'm getting the pop-ups much more frequently than that (such as between my last post on this thread and now), it's most likely my security settings. Probably not accepting cookies for all sites, or something along those lines.

I'm sorry about that. If it gets too annoying, just get some pop-up killer... Though of course that will prevent all pop-ups, ads or not.

I don't mind the pop-ups, as long as they help keep the site online i let them load.
But on topic here, i've had this 'problem' ever since i started loggin on 0h-so-long-ago.
It asks me if i want to remember this Windows Passord, i say yes, and in never does...*sigh*

Get AbSubtract if you want to kill pop-ups. Awesome utility, it definitely speeds up browsing.

[IMG] Er, I didn't say I want everyone to kill the pop-ups. Just the people that are actually experiencing problems with them loading more often that every couple of hours.

[IMG] Well, it's not really a big problem at all for me. Just a couple of extra windows that pop-up when the site loads. And since it's only on the Sorcerer's main page and the forums main page, I know when to expect it too ;)

[IMG] That's what you think. :D
The code for them is on all pages. You only see them first on the pages you hit first.

[IMG] Awwwww, I come on this thread, and I was thinking about my stomach, doh. I want some REAL cookies, like chocolate chip.
And by the way, I haven't had any problems with my PC.

Hmmm, happened to me for the first time yesterday - password and logname weren't remembered. Had to log in for the first time in months. I didn't change any cookie settings though.

    EDIT: Thanks Extremist, that worked!

It really didn't happen for months in my case, but then again, it did happened before when I was using IE5.0. Yes, now I'm on IE5.5 and unless someone confirms 6.0 doesn't screw cookies, I'll keep this version.

Anyway, in case of that problem (no nick, no password, no PM, etc), just go to Preferences and delete cookies. After that set cookies back again at the same page. All you have to do more IIRC is to post anything and all will work again.

[IMG] Everyone who is having this problem please do as Ex there suggested. I've removed the pop-ups so we'll see if they were the cause of this.
