    I once had a girl try to put a dart through my hand, but we were playing extreme darts anyways. And I hooked up with her later, so all was forgiven.

    Darts can be fun when one has nothing else to do. Rotku did once smash some big mirror which for some unknown reason was standing behind the dart board while Rotku was playing darts.
    He hasn't played darts much since then..

    Actually as a Dutchie i'm glad that Barney lost, so that we don't have to go through all that crap again, of him being in every TV show, telling the world that Darts players are top athletes.

    Excuse me, but when i look at Van Barneveld, and that big lump of meat he just lost to, the first thing that comes to mind is NOT athletism. Darting is fun to play and watch, but it's NOT a sport, far from that. It's only a game, one that you learn in the pub, with a cigarette in your mouth and a pint in one hand.

    Darts are fun! fun! fun! I used to play Cricket and 501 on a team down in Florida -- we had a blast (and were pretty good too!). Never had a dart board in the house though -- not with a cat around.

    @Blackhawk

    Spoken like a true American. :lol:

    I personaly think that darts is a great game to play when you get together with your friends.

    I just have no idea of what any of you are talking about with all of this Barney talk. You guys got a thing for purple dinos?

    @ Jaguar

    Barney = Raymond Van Barneveld.

    He is the no. 1 in his section of darts. He's been like a machine for a year or two. He looses off darts like bullets without taking even 2 seconds to aim. You just can't keep him out of the red bit and he puts ton80's in for fun. He's a right good lad.

    This time round he got beat by an English guy called Andy Fordham aka The Viking (he's a big lad with a big heart :p - a crowd favourite).
    This guy usually gets to the quarters/semi's then loses. He has been going for about 15-20 years and never reached the final.

    This year he has really been on the ball though. He beat Barney in one of the best matches in recent times. Then beat his follow finalist, another Englishman called Mervyn King. He really beat him without the greates deal of trouble.

    I am really please for the guy. WELL DONE ANDY! :D GOOD LAD!

    Darts? No thanks, gimme golf anyday over darts.
    And on that topic, give me an acid enema over golf any day. Now Snooker and Pool are games I really enjoy. And actually, I got the shock of my life about a year ago when I was channel-surfing late one night, I flicked over to SBS (our multi-cultural station) and strangely got hooked on watching a Poker tournament. Can't remember the actual name of the type they were playing but I think it was Texas something-or-other - you start with two cards each and then 5 more cards get dealt one at a time in fornt of the dealer, you pick the three that make the best hand when put with yours.

    Instead of "darts", I like to play "throwing knives". Same game, but with a thicker target and, obviously, throwing knives instead of darts.

    Most of the people I play with have trouble simply making the knives stick, so I haven't lost yet. Maybe that's why I find it so amusing...

    AAAArghhh cursed this non-frequant internet access, darts rules, lakeside rules, pity barney lost but somehow I am glad that he lost so that the viking could win.

    I play the occasional match, we actually had some 'treble' fridays, I won em all :D

    I know for sure that he is going to win the next time, right Apeman?
    Or do you think other wise?

    Actuall I am secretly hoping for Co (the matchstick) stompe to get farther than first round. The year Barney was beaten in the first two rounds he got to the semis, ever since though he's failed miserely.

    And what about our other national pride: albertino essers :eek: :rolleyes: he scored the two lowest averages of both years he entered the embassy.

    I get your point, and you're a bit right.
    Barney wins almost every tournament, and Co is (most of the times) out in the first round. :eek:
    And I (same as you) hope he makes it next time to the semis or further.
