    Spell Trap will have the same effect. The fun thing about that is that you get back a level 9 spell everytime he casts on you. (I remember casting 5 time stops against Kangaxx once.)

    Spell Turning will cause the demilich to imprison himself. You still get the items and xp.

    A Protection from Undead scroll also works, too, if you don't have Minsc, Korgan or a suitable Berserker/Barbarian in your party. Strange nobody has mentioned it.

    However, the Berserking method seems to be the fairest of all. I just feel like a big lame cheater when I use the Protection from Undead or Magic scrolls.

    Chill, fellas. :hippy:

    [IMG] D.R. - Buck had the good common sense to take it to P.M. We agreed to settle our differences in a mature fashion - pistols at dawn. :roll: Buck will probably win, since I can't hit the broad side of a barn; I may have to resort to an ambush (a.k.a. "trap") :grin:

    Last time through, I went to kill Kangaxx in the approved manner: send Minsc berserk and attack with the Improved Mace of Disruption. Result: one imprisoned Minsc. Bummer! That had never happened before. I did wonder whether it had something to do with the Baldurdash fixpack that I'd applied. Anyway, I reloaded, used a scroll of magic protection on Keldorn, and whacked Kangaxx with Carsomyr until dead. A previous time, I tried to get the Ring Of Gaxx in chapter 2 by sending Jaheira in with the Staff Of Rhynn. Even with a girdle of giant strength she wasn't able to do enough damage to Kangaxx to kill him - he regenerates at a furious rate - and the scroll of magic protection ran out before he was dead. Double bummer!

    Minsc's enrage ability is different than a true berserk. Baldurdash mentions that Minsc's enrage doesn't protect him from imprisonment and maze. Whether or not this is how it's supposed to be is another question. :confused:

    Maybe -- but I still haven't had the good sense to go back and edit my post accordingly.... :rolleyes:

    You wouldn't say that if you saw me with one of my friend's 9mm Browning a couple of weekends ago. "Sure, I managed to hit the target three shots out of twelve at 75 yards -- but how many has he put into me in the meantime?!" :eek:

    @CamDawg:
    The best answer you can get is try it yourself. Anyway, My BG2 is patched and umodded and Minsc was not affected by demilich's imprisonment when he was berserked(it works for me).

    Nah, like I mentioned above, I have my mages cast Spell Immunity and off they go. Toss in a Ring of the Ram and a few MR-bypass spells and he falls pretty easily.

    A demilich's magic resistance is zero. That's right, zero. He has an item that grants him complete immunity to level 9 spells and lower.

    Sorry, I'm thinking of the lich form which I usually take out with a few sunfires. The actual demiliches I start hacking while spell immune.
