Assassin, druid and necromancer. Variation is important in this game to keep things from getting too repetitive.

I've always liked paladins; not as dumbed-down as Babas, but still capable of sticking it to 'em on the front lines. Haven't played for ages, though. After finishing Normal difficulty I kinda lost motivation to continue; it's just too samey for me. Necros were a laugh, too. Corpse Explosion is definitely worthy of the tag "best skill in the game", if not for damage & versatility, then for the joy of the "zing! squelch!" sound effect. Happy days!

After playing paladin only with hammer (the skill, that make a hammer making circle) and concentration with friends who have over 90 lvl characters only for searching greater items to trade, I quitted it. The critical strike was the improvement of the 30 level aura that only gave tach0 bonus (I know it's not) after some update it improved to give attck damage bonus which made my 15 points concentration as digging the hole in the ground.

I think the Assasin is cool... She can make some serious butt-kicking with her claws on the higher levels, summon a shadow and make some cool kicks and traps...
But in multiplayer the paladin is fantastic, because he can share his auras with the other chars in the party... And a barb with might is fantastic :) !
But the nec is cool too... The ability to create an army of summoned creatures is just to cool :) !

I like paladins; theres a whole lot of interesting builds to be made with them. I have a shock zealot, but I'm getting kind of bored with him now. A mage paladin looks interesting; a hammer/fist of heavens hybrid, perhaps with conversion for fun. Im not too interested in overwhelming power, just a character who's interesting to play.

Oh, a question; does conversion work with missile weapons?

Druids and necromancers are fun too. I very much enjoy my golem/corpse explosion melee necro. Again, not massively powerful, but fun to use.

Necros have always been my favorite. Got one to level ~75, highest I've ever been able to get a character without losing interest. He was a summoner, and much fun. My Orb/Meteor/Fireball sorceress came close at 71, though.

I tried a pure hammer paladin, but got bored with him around Act 2 on Nightmare. I hate Act 2, not sure why. I personally see more reason to hate Act 3, but I just don't.

Haven't had a Baba since the early days of 1.09, never really looked back. Never had an Amazon above level 10 or so, same goes for Assassin and Druid.

Turning into a wearsolf is so appealing, but then so is being a necromancer that curses and brings his enemies back from the dead.
