@ Yirimyah: At any other time, such words would almost be high treason from an Aussie. Not now, though - I'm almost tempted to jump to NZ as well.

    @ Splunge: God bless Canada...

@ BTA: If everyone who didn't like the US could leave and did, somehow I don't think there's a snowflake's chance in hell that it would retain its superpower status. You need your oppressed, your downtrodden - who the hell else can you build a powerbase on top of?

"It's not so much Bush is the problem, it's that the U.S. is rapidly becoming a bigoted, Christianity-enforcing, police-state." from Rednix

Would the following count as Christianity-enforcing?

"The marines that I have had wounded over the past five months have been attacked by a faceless enemy," said Colonel Brandl.

"But the enemy has got a face. He's called Satan. He lives in Falluja. And we're going to destroy him."

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/3989639.stm

It seems that Colonel can do something that the Arch Angel Gabriel cannot do - destroy Satan. It seems that Satans only weekness is bullets - not silver bullets but standard bullets. Hell he is even vunerable to rockets.

Yes I seen the 'Muslim' comic on chick.com . That comment about the white house flying a 'Muslim' flag by 2010 made me laugh. It just increasing some unjust fear of the (for them) unknown.

He probably thinks that Sikhs are Muslim terrorists.

Dammit, the right loves this story: they think it shows the left as unpatriotic and flighty.

I would never surrender my country to the right, nor would I even in jest suggest connecting the liberal parts of it to Canada just because Canadians tend to vote more liberal on some issues. On account of one closely fought election, I'm going to change my citizenship to a country that sings "God Save the Queen?" I mean, even you Aussies and Kiwis have her on your freaking coinage, what's the matter with you?

No-one wanting to come to ole blighty then?

Hey Bion, we almost had all of Europe using currency with the Queens head on it. It was going to be one of the bribes to get us to use the Euro.
(Or at least, this is how it was reported in some of the British press)

Nowt wrong with our anthem, though the last verse and the crushing of the Scots has kind of fallen out of use.

@Carcaroth- OK, you've convinced me. I'll channel my disillusionment with the US election by renouncing my citizenship and migrating to the UK, but only if you guys switch your national anthem to the Sex Pistols version.

"We love our queen / God saves..."
