@ Macready: Can you define your term "core bug fixes" more closely?
I'm eagerly awaiting my copy of TotSC to go with EasyTutu and it would be nice - for me at least - to know wich components from the fixpack you use :)

    Hello -

EasyTutu includes the Baldurdash fixpacks for both games, as well as the Baldurdash game text updates. But I am not referring to either of those when I say "core bug fixes." During a traditional install of Tutu, immediately after the initial conversion has taken place, one must install the "Tutufix" mod, which contains (among other things) scores of bug fixes lumped together into a component called "core bug fixes." So, what I am trying to say is that EasyTutu already includes this package of fixes without the need for installing it separately.

You are still welcome to install other elements of the Tutufix mod if they sound desirable to you, but you should skip the core bug fixes component, because you have the bug fixes installed already. See the "Mods" section of the EasyTutu page for more details on mod usage.

    Hello -

New versions of EasyTutu have been posted this morning. The installer has been improved such that an EasyTutu installation should now be 100% independent of both your BG1 and BG2 installations after setup is complete, and a bunch of little game-related bug fixes and enhancements have been done as well. Full details can be found in the change log.

?? I have Easy Tutu. If I want to download the latest version do I have to start all overagain?

Can I use my current game or do I have to start a new game?

I am awed by Easy Tutu. It is amazingly easy to install and plays well. So nice to have pause in inventory, to be able to use the tab key to highlight loot plus other things.

    Hello -

In this sort of situation the safest bet is always to finish your game in progress on whatever version you started it on -- that's what I would do. However, if your game in progress is an EasyTutu game, you should be able to migrate it to the newer version. The only catch is that if you have installed any mods on EasyTutu, you will need to install the exact same mods (and preferably the exact same version of those mods), in the exact same order, on your newer EasyTutu installation. As long as the EasyTutu version (i.e., SoA or ToB version) and mods remain constant, everything should be fine. If you aren't using mods, then it really should be a snap to move to the newer version, and your savegames should work without any problem whatsoever.

Thanks, although I can't take credit for Tutu itself being cool -- the accomplishment of bringing BG1 to the BG2 engine was the work of others. EasyTutu just makes it easier to get up and running, and adds some installation features and additional bug fixes.

That said, thanks for the kind words. :)

New versions of EasyTutu are now available for download.

Most notably, a complete set of spawn fixes has been implemented: 384 individual spawn points, spread out over 49 different game areas, have been fixed. Not a single conventional spawn point remains. Furthermore, control over the spawning process has been placed into your hands -- the game difficulty level (Novice / Normal / Core Rules / Hard / Insane, as set in the game options) now directly influences the overall difficulty of monster spawns.

Travel encounters (hostile interruptions of your travel from one area to another on the game map) have also been reconfigured so that they too respond to the game difficulty level. A "sanity check" has been implemented for early game travel spawns occurring between Candlekeep and the Friendly Arm, in order to prevent massacres of low-level parties.

Complete details about these updates, as well as the other little fixes that made it into this release, can be found in the EasyTutu change log. The downloads are in their usual place on the EasyTutu page.

Please note that if you currently have an EasyTutu game in progress, you are strongly urged to complete that game prior to updating EasyTutu.

    Enjoy.

I think this is a bug: When I press the map at High Hedge or the map with the lighthouse, the game crashes. I got the new version og easy tut installed, but had this bug only at the lighthouse map in last version. Back then I thought it was due to sirines call mod, but this time I don't use this mod.
    Regards

    Hello -

    EDIT:

I've changed my mind -- I now think that EasyTutu is the source of your problem. The ARE patching which occurred as part of the spawn fixing opened the door to potential problems if any mod (such as Tutu Tweaks) added map notes to the game. I'll be releasing updated versions of EasyTutu shortly.

    My apologies for the inconvenience.

This works extremely well - I'm very happy and thank you muchly as I couldn't get my head around installing vanilla Tutu AT ALL!

This is really what I've been waiting for because, to tell you the truth, I've always HATED the GUI of BG1 as I came to it after BG2. The many tweaks and mods you recommended are also very very good and enhance gameplay no end.
