Ha ha, I love how when England lose, it is due to some luck on the part of the opposition or some incompetence on the part of the referee / umpire - but when they win....it is due to their supreme quality and top-class players. :)

What a great final! West Indies completely on the ropes at 147-8, but there's nothing better than a lower order partnership to get you on the edge of your seat. Unbeaten 71 run stand - fantastci stuff (unless you're an England fan). Sorry, Morsmordre, but that was exactly what the neutral fans wanted to see. Spectacular. And don't blame the umpire.......

Yeah, hats off to the Windies. Sometimes you have to just say well done. The 9th wicket partnership is one of the best I have ever seen, and in very bad light towards the end. Very impressive.

The stuff of legends. Who would bet on the Windies tail getting them through with 71 runs to go? Full credit.

I think that actually says a lot about why a country like Australia which has a relatively small population is so successful at sports. An Australian would never consider it OK to lose. They play to win EVERY time.

"I apologise for nothing!" Seriously, the day I apologise about Australia vs England (in ANYTHING), Hell will cop a blizzard. And hey, I'm a Melbourne boy - I only care about rugby once every four years, unlike the northern states.

It wasn't a second-string side for the first half, and they got beaten, pure and simple. Okay, maybe they didn't care enough to play as hard as they could, maybe England didn't care about the match. They should at least have cared enough to win if they're actually as good as you claim. That's just poor form from players who *should* be honoured to represent their country. But hey, they aren't getting 40,000 quid for the match, so I suppose it doesn't matter...

It does make us more vicious, I think. Especially the small guys like me who have to make up for strength and speed with aggression. It also makes losing hurt a hell of a lot more. I don't know anyone who goes into a contest thinking they're a sure thing, which I think is partly why Australia does so well - we rarely underestimate opponents (well, except for Ricky Ponting, which he has no right to do given what happened last time we toured India).
