[IMG] Thanks for the link Lo!

I picked up Russian language as a second major in undergrad. I was bored with French (I had been taking it for about 4 years), so my best friend and I decided to try something different. We had it narrowed down to Russian and Arabic because we wanted to learn a new alphabet. We left the decision to chance - and Russian won the coin toss.

Originally, we only had to take 9 credits of language to earn our undergrad degree, but we enjoyed it so much, we picked it up as a second major. My senior year, about 35 of the Russian language students went to Russia for the semester. That was in 1992 - the day we landed, the Soviet Union dissolved and became the ÑÍÃ - Russian Federation?

I spent most of that time in St. Petersburg living in the dorms for the Gorny Mining Institute. If you're familiar with St. Petersburg, the dorm overlooks the Gulf of Finland, it's right next to the Kirov monument outside the Naval Academy Dorms.

I really loved St. Petersburg! Plus, it was a good time to be there - Everyone seemed excited about the changes going on. I remember people asking me about market economy's and such...Being born capitialists - my answer was always: "It just kinda happens! You have something, and you want to get the best price you can for it! The price is usually determined by how much people want it & what they're willing to pay to get it." (My Econ 101 lesson...LOL)

Anyway - I met a lot of great people, saw some of the most beautiful art & architecture, fell in love (with the city and a girl there), and generally had a great time! Since then, I'm fascinated and interested by all things Russian! I don't much of an opportunity to practice the language much though...

I'm anxious to go back there soon to see how things have changed. The media says it's really bad, but I want to see for myself.

[IMG] Shura - If you spout crap like that to women...That's all they're going to see!

Perception determines reality, my friend :D

Satiana - Ouch! What's that supposed to mean? ;)

[IMG] You not exactly a very happy fellow are you Shura?

Why are you so angry anyway? I guess the poeple that you have come in contact with have not likeed you all that much or something, by the statement of your last post that is what I gathered.

I think that you can be an ok person when you are not having outrageous outburst, with all kinds of mean an nasty things to say to people.

Shura please enlighten us on how a hole can rupture. I thought only containers could rupture. Maybe in your rage you said anal but meant intestine? Ouch, must stop constant nasty thoughts. :(

By the way, I can't seem to help being attracted to redheads. I guess it's just that the very few I've gotten to know well were really wonderful.

Shove a wooden katana up someone's arsehole hard enough and you'll tear the lining of his rectal wall.
Lots of blood and high pitched screaming ensue.
    What fun!!!

    Besides, I'm a Ta'naari in a mortal shell.
So that gives me the right to screw up people's lives. After all, they seem to go out of their way to screw up mine.
