    I support it 100%.

    I prefer to call it "same sex marriage," not "gay marriage." Being bisexual, it is slightly offensive to hear it called gay marriage, because it implies that if I choose to settle down with a guy that my orientation automatically changes to gay, which it doesn't.

    Also, I'm sad to see that even the people supporting this do not understand the difference between zoophilia and beastiality. These two words are not synonymous, I support zoophilia but strongly oppose beastiality.

    Zoophilia means affection or affinity for animals.

    Example of someone who could be considered a zoophile: Tarzan. He treats them as equal to himself and protects them with his life but does not have any sort of relationships with them.

    That's not necessarily true. Like many words, the true definition depends on the context. Words that end in -philia can mean variously: affection or friendship for, appetite (typically in a sexual way) for, or tendency toward something.

    Someone who uses the word zoophilia to mean abnormal sexual attraction or relations with animals would not be misusing the word.

    Between two persons, a relationship can be heterosexual or homosexual, irrespectively of the orientation of people involved. Gay marriage and same sex marriage mean the same, anyway. I've used both terms interchangeably in this thread.

    I could understand that the word "gay" might sound offensive to homosexual people, but since they use it themselves...

    [​IMG] Did everyone hear about the rather entertaining controversy arising out of San Francisco? The city is issuing marriage licences to same-sex couples in defiance of the Californian Constitution.

    It will interesting to see what happens. Without doubt it will end up in the California Supreme Court (the feds do not have jurisdiction).

    While zoophilia can be used to mean that, it's still not synonymous with beastiality. Beastiality only has a single definition, and that is the rape of animals. Zoophilia is not limited to just that definition.

    I don't mean to be offensive, but perhaps you should consult a dictionary before making untrue statements about the meanings of words.

    The word you are referring to is bestiality, not beastiality, and it has many meanings just as zoophilia does; it does not only mean sex with animals.

    Exactly the same what zoophilia has, still keeping in mind zoophilia is attraction to animals while bestiality is having sex with animals, so you can have one without having the other.. You lose either way and we move back to the topic now :rolleyes:
