In the 16 years I have been DM-ing or gaming, of which mostly non-computer RPG´s, I have frequently roleplayed with persons of the opposite sex. I have always found that women are much more into their character and give depth to the R in RPG. Most male players, especially when they are quite novices to the RPG-Genre, tend to abuse the R for Roll and only use the pauses between battles for a fillup on their glasses, a restroom stop or the preparation of a very unhealthy snack. In addition to that, women sometimes have tried to squeeze more out of those games than I originally had put into. I guess that says more about me then about women ;)

So, all, thank god for the roleplaying- and gaming-women/girls, a big hurray for them and will you now please pass the dices....

    :):):)

Woman are average indeed a bit more emotional, so they are better in placing themselves into someone else, even a D&D character.

[IMG] Hmmmmm, this old debate eh? Heh----men vs women!

Bah, it really isn't a matter of that. Anyone with smarts would know that it is really about the individual and not about what sex you are.

And my opinion about why more women do not game, is that most of them don't know about it! Have never even been introduced to it. They may have heard something about it thru their friends, but other than that---they have no clue.

I had friends that use to play D&D, but I was not allowed because of that whole thing where people were actually acting it out and getting killed. Then when I got older, I just lost touch with people that played it. Then of course I was actually introduced to BG my a friend of mine and have been hooked ever since. And as soon as we can get a group together to actually play D&D, we plan on doing so.

It was just the matter of being introduced to it. Thats all.

You are too few girls, Satiana. And around here where I live I am the only CRPG-playing boy as well. Or at least the only reasonable one in my eyes. Think all the girls look at me as a weirdo.

That could be it. I wasn't INTRODUCED to RPG's: I had to find them by myself.

Satiana, I am also never introduced. I tell people about it and already introduced one girl to cRPG and RPG, but most men also found out this by themselves, maybe girls should find out some more things by themselves (except for finding out good clothes-shops in town)

I'm glad I am not seen as a weirdo cause of my fantasy-obsession.

Well, I was introduced to D&D circa 1978 by a girl, and our whole role-playing group was girls -- I was eight, you see, and we had no use for boys at that time. Then, twenty years later, I bought a MTG Portal box, and learned that. But lo and behold, these are not things women do. I have introduced a few guys to the game, but -- except for my Mom, who is pretty good -- none of my women friends are even slightly interested in learning MTG. Figure that out.

[IMG] Mollusken dear, you are a weirdo. :) Even with out your obsession as Bogi put it. Hehee.

Dunno, maybe we can go around and force them to play BG once and see if that will work. Ya know, smack em around some, see if we can't knock some sense into them. :)
