It's a kidney, right? So she can get a transplant? I mean it's bad news and all but if worse comes to worst there'll still be treatment avaliable. I hope that knowledge grants you some solace.

So...okay. After the scare on Sunday/Monday when I first things have improved greatly. They prescribed some new anitbiotics and they seem to have help alot. Also Laurie realized that we were right when we were telling her to drink lots of water/Cranberry juice because it will keep her hydrated and help detoxify her. Which will ease the job for her kidneys. So she's actually listened and has ben drinking nearly as much water as I do in a day (like 10 cups/bottles). The pain has lessened and she has mobility. She still has the occasional bout of pain and is still a little worried but things are looking 100x better.

Thanks for the support and prayers. It meant alot to me.

I'm happy for your gf and you!

    Go antibiotics, go!

You wouldn't be inclined to tell what bacteria it is? Or should I just do some research myself and take guesses?

The situation's of course better, but still not clear, so best of luck to you and yours!

Oh yeah, and it might not be a bad idea for her to eat some garlick. Maybe consult a doctor, since it might stress the kidneys, but garlick's a very good antibiotic too. So if her kidney can handle it, it won't do much harm...
