    If you want a good tank, a Deep Gnome Cleric maybe your best bet. Spells like Holy Power and Draw Upon Holy Might alone (both are self-cast only) mean your tank WILL get higher a higher Strength, Constitution and Damage output.

    Draw Upon Holy Might is nearly useless in a normal game, since
    1.) Champion's Strength grants more strength for a far longer time
    2.) Your dexterity modifier is limited by your armor
    3.) Temporary raised con is dangerous, when the spell runs out you'll be missing a few HP suddenly.

    I doubt that Holy Power alone can even out the missing BAB bonus and attack/round.

    Spellcasters are more powerful than warriors in IWD2 if you do enough micromanaging, but that doesn't mean that they are more fun ...
