Hot chocolate would be my suggestion; the healing properties of chocolate are not evident for most of the male population.... :p

Hot chocolate, made of... what do you call it, "full" milk? Unskimmed anyway... with whipped cream should work wonders :)

[IMG] You can't beat a can of beer, which has been in the fridge for two days(very cold.) Then sit in the comfiest chair in your house and listen to your favourite song or watch your favourite film it's great. :thumb:

Meditation, or acupuncture. Possibly finding your centre might help you achieve the calm you desire.

I don't think I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome (though I guess it's possible) as the urge to fully evacuate my bowels is a direct result of my nerve problem. And in that case I don't know that licorice would be a good idea as I've heard licorice is a good laxative.

Coffee does tend to help quite a bit but I'll definitely try some of the other ideas mentioned. Thanks. :thumb:

I used to get that type of problem but somehow I'm better for it. Now I simply NEVER stressed and I've developed a "Whatever happens, happens" attitude. I don't know if it's a good thing but it allows me to always keep a cool head, not worry about a problem and just get straight to fixing it.

A lot of musicians eat a banana before they go on stage to calm them. I don't know why it does, but it works.

Sleep. If your nerves are really bothering you, it (at least in my case) usually means I've been getting too little sleep.

Black tea is a very good idea. But be sure to brew it long enough. Or else it's like drinking coffee.

But coffee tastes better than tea anyway! ;)

    Shmoke and a pancake?

    Waffle and a shigar?

    Crepe and a pipe?

Bong and a blintz? (weed's legal in Windsor, Ontario, Canada)

    No?

Then there is no pleasing you

Go to the source first. What causes it?
Does stress cause these extreme nerves?
I used to get so stressed out and would feel just like you do. I started thinking, what's the point? Now, I don't let myself get stressed. If I know something has the potential to cause this, I try to find a humerous aspect of it.
I take a line from a Jimmy buffet song, "If we didn't laugh, we'd all go insane."
    Its the truth.
If you can keep it from getting to the point of making you ill, go work out or go for a jog. Excersise can do wonders to clear your mind.
Something like Jimmy Buffet works for me. Try music.

I think going for a run, or something eles like that is the best way to calm one's nerves. Gives you time alone to think, yet at the same time tries you out so you don't worry so much. Hockey works even better, atleast for me.

When that's not possible, I find singing helps, if you're willing to put up with heaps of strange looks and people telling you you can't sing intune ;)
