Have you thought of, ohhh, I don't know... a fresh install with just this mod?

On topic, I too heard that mod it's quite buggy, so I don't intend to try it. I also read a fan fic writen on this mod, and may I say it almost made me go berserk. I don't remember if writer was lord Mirabo, but I'm pretty sure it was. Enought to say I wanted to flay somebody alive when that fan fic was over.

 

All along I've always felt a romance with your sister is ... wrong. Just wrong.

It may be well written, but yikes. How do you role play that? And what does it say about a person who wants/enjoys roleplaying a character having a romantic affair WITH HIS SISTER.

For me, it's mainly curiosity. Although I'll give it that I'm interested even in a romantic point of view of this mod to a certain extent. After all, after all the hentais I saw, incest isn't really a taboo to me Yes, I am a little sick, you might say.

 

The thing is Bruno, it's contestable whether she's your sister or not. Which is the whole point of it. If she was definitely your sister by blood, then yeah, bang out of order and pretty sick.

 

Or just bang more and think of the church later.

 

Its not exactly as though they are brother and sister which have been living together all their lives. Even with the same parents I suppose I could understand a relationship between brother and sister if they wernt brought up together. In this case though they are hardly even blood related, you can be any race you want so I cant see how two people of a different race can be incest. And lastly they are only half brother / sister if anything and charname considers Gorion as his father, well in my RP experience anyway.

As for Immy&PC relationship:

This has been discussed before, and I still do not think Imoen and PC can be considered real bro-sister. They have Bhaal's taint, but that's all. Heck, the PC may not be human anyway!

Especially when you beat ToB, and the taint is gone from all reamaining Bhaalspawns, there is NO blood-connection left with Immy and the PC.

This means....they can finally produce kids freely!

 

With mods you can have gay relationship, underage relationship so isn't it just natural that you can have sex with your sister too?

 

Er, I just wouldn't put gay relationships on the same boat with underage relationships and incest.

Some people will argue that being son/daughter(s) of the same fictional deity makes them authentic siblings, some will argue that not.

The freaky thing here is that they aren't offsprings of Bhaal in the sense that they were created by his power/inspiration/whatever. Instead, he went down to the realms and mated with females of different species. He's <charname>'s BIOLOGICAL father, as well as Imoen's. That's my point of view, at least.

However, it's only a game anyway, and let's remember that in the end, you're not your character. So, if you think Imoen's a babe, at least you're not actually her brother. In that case you'd have a problem, I guess, but only in that case.

 

Funny, playing as evil-assassin-psychopath-killer-murderer is considered ok but underage thingy is nono. Aren't those morally as bad afterall?

Seriously, this is a RPG game after all, and only real limitation should be your imagination. BG2 is such an excellent game, with the help of the mods, it allows you to have gay, under-age, or even kinda incest romances, should you desire so. I see no real harm in it, if one wants, and enjoys his/her game, that is OK. Remember it is only a game, and you will be OK.

I agree %100. Just relax and enjoy your game, in any way you want. Go CHAOTIC EVIL! Go and kill every courtesan you find on the streets of Athkathla, in the nights...Turn little children into statues....Charm city guards and let them kill the beggars at your leisure.....First romance Imoen, and then backstab her, kill and finally dump her sorry corpse......Get all gay romances and have your dirty fun!.......Beat Aerie into uncounciousness with your bare hands and think that you are actually raping her freely....etc.etc.

 

^ That's basically what the monsters try to do to your party through the whole game. They don't need your help, thank-you-very-much, so concentrate in keeping your char up and running.

I never thought the monsters were trying to rape Aerie though!

All in all, it is personal preference, you can even aim to kill all joinable NPCs in the game, if you wish. You can also choose to let your PC get killed stupidly and stop playing by deleting your save games.

 

I can see it now GTA: Balgurs Gate! But seriously though, you are right, you cant apply modern day social boundries to a game, especially an RPG.

As for Imoen's Romance mod I agree with Wordplay: buggy and too complicated especially if you have another NPC mods at the same time who will try to romance your PC.But still I liked the mod and its worth a try IMO.


This can help getting through the mod.

 

It's only in BG2 that she's revealed as your sister. In BG1, she was a companion, and a possible mate, certainly more likely than Jaheira. It's a bit like in Star Wars, where princess Leia was the love interest of both Luke and Han, but producers decided to give her to Han, and so ridiculously made her Luke's sister.

I never tried the mod, but I hope it makes a point of going back to the BG1 spirit and denying the "sister" bit of BG2. Irenicus is just a damn liar.

 

Actually, Capt, there is evidence in ToB that Imoen indeed is Charname's sister.

 

yes Taluntain, Imoen is at best your Half sister. like most other Bhaalspawn they only share one parent, save for Sarevok.
