Oh yeah. Disciple was a Lorekeeper of Oghma, who did product reviews of the mysterious items of treasure found along the way. You can't have fun like that with BG2 or Neverwinter Nights. Who says there is no roleplaying in a linear game?

Love it. I love being able to build and control a party of 6 through a D&D adventure. This is my favourite type of game. Loved these games since Ultima III.

Yes, the turn based combat gives ToEE the edge over IWD2. The biggest gripe I have about IWD2 is trying to place area effect spells like Fireball. It is really frustrating when everyone moves around after you cast Fireball so you miss half of the enemy and catch half of your party in the blast. That is why I prefer AE spells that do not affect my own party members like Sleep and Confusion.

Awesome game. I think the first time I ever used a magic wielder was in this game, before I thought they were all a bunch of nancies but when I cast that first fireball at a horde of goblins and saw them all go splat, I was hooked ;)

BTW, seems a few people here seem to like the BG music better than IWD's, I found that quite odd considering I thought the music gave IWD a much better atmosphere.

    So much potential...

If IWD2 could be modded properly it would be the ultimate game. I give it 9/10!
BG2 is a game where you battle powerful mages by killing them quickly with your party of well equipped fighters.
IWD2 is a game where you defeat hordes of monsters, and in Heart of Fury mode you really need more than one spellcaster, single class or with mix-ins only.

It's also a powergamers dream: So many choices to create perfectly built characters. It became an obsession to make the perfect party of 6.

The xp curve is way too steep, but adjustable.
