[IMG] I beat the demi lich without any scroll, just that the spell he keeps casting doesnt work against a little lv 5 or 7 protection spell (dont remember which one)......it's just so easy to beat this guy.

I beat him using: Chang my +/- 12th lvl kensai with a protection from magic scroll; then a kept whacking him with the fire damage from summoned fire elementals 'cause I didn't know +how much your weapon had to be (I had celestial fury & frostreaver).
Have you ever done like that.

PS: the lich is a pushover; the demilich is... well different

I have and it was about as exciting and challenging as the time I used a protection from undead scroll against him.

Those scrolls are just too overpowered for my liking.

I'm just enfuriated by how hard it is to beat these things with magic. In all the fantasy novels I've read (Forgotten Realms of course), the mages just blast liches and all away like no tomorrow. When in reality their magic resistance and spellprotections (and offensive spells) are so incredibly strong that it'd take an Elminster or two to actually win them with magical power alone. Especially when you're dealing with demiliches. Of course, you can play around with "Lower Resistances" and "Timestops", but..

Anyway, the liches and demiliches aren't much of a problem. Just that beating them always feels sort of cheating or exploiting bugs in the game engine or AI (what with the thief traps, sickly super-protective scrolls, etc), never fair, complete ownage.
