Don't make me do this. I hate bashing characters
It has to be Nalia. She's just so...arghh...and her stupid aunt...grrgh...and her stupid good for nothing quest...gahh.

 

Cernd is the worst closely followed by Jaheira - dumb hippy tree-huggers! The only good thing about them is their fire elemental spells - they can hardly use any decent weapons!

I agree Anomen is also annoying and his romance with a female protagonist is sickening, but he can be pretty strong especially if he passes his knighthood test thing!

Imoen - yes she is one of the shallowest NPC's and just seems constantly stoned to me. If I was 16 I'd probably love her, but I'm well into my 20's so... no thanks!

 

Naila. I can tolerate Anomen (telling him to f*** off is just too much fun), but Naila just...argh. Plus, mages annoying me now, immensley, after trying out a sorcerer.

 

Hmm, interesting topic this...

Many people in this thread have mentioned word "hate". It strikes me at how much of "feeling" can you develop towards something like a NPC in a computer game. I suppose much of the way people relate to each other in RL is transferred into the game world as well. However be cautious as perhaps saying something as "I hate X acting all goody, goody" or "I hate Y acting all mother-like" perhaps reveals someones unresolved issues in personal life. The question everyone has to ask basically is - "Why do I actually have such strong emotion/feeling (as hate is) towards something as insignificant as NPC in a computer game???"

Honestly, I just browsed thru the list of all NPC's that can join the party and I don't hate any of them.

Least favourite - prolly Korgan. He is an alcoholic and brutal, violent murderer. Why would you like that kind of person. He doesn't have any personality whatsoever, only his bloody axe. Such types of creatures pose no interest to me.

My favourites - Mazzy Fentan, Jan Jansen and Jaheira.
Mazzy is the kind of girl I would like to romance if Jaheira wouldn't exist. She is so easy to get along and she never complains. If only she was taller...
Jan - you gotta love his stories. They are so meaningFUL if you actually think about it.
Jaheira - I liked how Baren explained in his post why would you love this woman.
Seeing the emotional stress she is put under and witnessing this unbreakable cliff collapsing and recognizing that she cannot cope alone anymore and needs help - that is actually very touching. Thou, you probably won't see it that way if you are not mature enough.

 

Clearly Anomen. Sure there are a few others, but none succeed in annoying me as much as he does. Most other characters only have one or two human flaws, being otherwise quite perfect in their own areas. Anomen however is a miserable fighter, a useless healer, incredibly stupid, extremely unwise and nowhere near what a cleric should be, cowardly, self-righteous, weak-minded, and an extremely annoying whiner. Clearly someone with his proficiencies would have no place amongst the great and powerful characters that the rest of your party manages to be. Granted, I've only played through the underdark with Anomen, but that was quite enough.

Aerie has some of Anomen's less than favorable qualities, but they fit her much better. Besides she's not a useless lout the way Anomen is, and even her personality develops for the better quite quickly.

Nalia falls next in line after Anomen from all the NPC:s who can join your party. But even she is still a bearable party member.

 

i hate any multiclass characters.

I agree with jurts. Why 'hate' a character. This is just 'least likeable NPC' thread. Also, this aint the place for i-like-this-character-most thread, theres a special one for that.

But to not make my reply a total spammage, i should say that IMHO on social scale korgan, edwin and anomen are total *******s (there are some in bg but this is strict bg2), and on useability scale, nalia, cernd and imoen (you dont see her whole game for chrissakes) are least favorite npcs.

dont forget, IMHO!

 

Anyone who think *they* are better than *me* *I* am a bhaalspawn after all!!!!!!! oh and nober (?) Since I'm a NE dwarven F/C I've killed him with sling BEFORE he even talk to me.
