Even the local beggars would turn their noses up at American beer. You couldn't give that stuff away :p

There's some lovely beers in the States. Just not the bigger companies.

I disagree Cuchulainn. I lived in the UK for 3 years (recently returned to US) and am surprised it isn't higher on the list.

I'm shocked and appalled that Canada is only nineteenth. I mean c'mon, beer if half our heritage!

For those still wondering, the other half is hockey. :D

Reepnorp? Come on; we Canucks are more about quality not quantity. ;)

And enough of the 'American beer is like making love in a canoe' jokes; it's not better or worse, just different! You're almost literally comparing apples and oranges :)

Take someone and raise them on stouts and dark ales; subsequently, this person would think a lager was just colored water.

But conversely, raise someone on lagers, and hand them a Guinness - they'll think it's treacle!

But anyways, I find all beers of every description that I've encountered (lager, ale, stout) is really not worth the effort; the yeast just makes me think I'm drinking liquid bread. :( Thus I'm a n/a for that table of statistics.

But give me a nice sui-cider...

At least it is good to see that one city in Australia is pulling its weight. As of the 9th of March next year, I should be able to help Brisbanes average considerably  :D

I pwn you all anyway. :p

Seriously, though, Czechs are the beer drinkers, aren't they? In Poland, beer consumption is growing, though, and the beer is getting better and better. You should try Dog in the Fog and Tyskie, most particularly. :p

Żywiec is faily popular in N.Ireland, but nothing beats Hoegaarden, even the mighty Guinness.

Chev, sorry pal but Tyskie is absolutely foul mate. This Polish lad at my work kept going on about how Polish beer is better than English beer and brought me some Tyskie to 'prove it'. I appreciated the gift but the beer was foul! It's like a cheap mans Stella Artois

Lager? Urgh. That thing tastes like dishwater. I can't belive some are actually calling THAT beer. *shrugs* Or, a quote from Abomination:

    Screw "lager", stouts forever!

...as well demonstrated by Unibroue's slogan: "Drink less, drink better".

Lager's beautiful provided you drink the right ones. The same goes for real ales and bitters.

    I like cherry coke.

But guys, American beer isn't obviously that bad, plenty of people drink it. Americans, yes, but as BA proved, people generally like beer from their own country anyways.

In general, stronger beers are better than the usual stuff anywhere they have in their taps.

But I like to spoil my lager with some Jack Daniels anytime.
