Well, about what i heard about Glazer, he is only wants to add Man United to hiss sports collection.
In america, he has a couple of big ice-hockey clubs, baseball clubs and american rugby clubs, so i fear he won't be much interested in Man United.

Huh? You don't go out and spend that sort of money if you're 'not interested' in Manchester United!

errr, I don't know how business works but if you buy something is because someone sells to you, so I guess that ManU owners were more interested in money than the guy who bought it.

Man U is a PLC - it's owned by shareholders, who are (generally) many in number, and have to decide individually whether they sell. As a large majority of these people are not going to be football fans, but pension funds etc. their sole interest is in maximising the return on their investment. In addition, the two majority shareholders - John Magnier and JP Macmanus - had recently had a BIG falling out with the manager of the club, making them more prone to selling up than anyone.

As I intimated in my previous post - and was seconded by HB - this is what can happen when you make a football club into a PLC. You gain a lot of money from all those shareholders buying stakes, but you lose control.

It's a joke. American football players wear low-grade body armor including shoulder pads, thigh pads, helmets, etc.

LOL Wayne Rooney would look classy in shoulder pads and gloves.

Low-grade? They look like riot police!

Although, it's highly entertaining that Glazer is making his purchase at the same time as Budweiser are running their Soccertainment adverts over here!
You know what they say: many a true word...

    Full article.

Players sell themselves to whom pay them the most, times where players played 15 years in the same club are gone so I know owners would do the same.

i dont know.. it was weirdly refreshing for me to see money can buy happiness when Chelsea won EPL. but Abramovic is a specific case i guess.

We'll just have to see what Glazer can do for Man U. A lot of people will be watching his every step or misstep from now on.

I've really not got that much sympathy for half the fans - glory hunters who are disappearing back into the woodwork as quick as some "lifelong" Chelsea supporters are appearing.
It all fits a man who knows **** all about football, buying a club where most fans know **** all about football.

I don't like football, and I especially don't like MU, but yes this is a sad day for all sports, if this is the fate of modern clubs.

I have a confession to make. This business with the Manchester United buy is just an attempt to destroy that game. We are just naturally offended about the big deal made over what is basically just a girls sport over on this side of the Atlantic. :D

[IMG] I am not the first to say it but you Americans have no idea what proper sport is.
You play for 15 minutes - 2/3 of which is deciding what to do and then sit round watching commercials for 15 minutes before starting again. And lets not forget the 30lbs of protective gear you need to put on before entering the field of play! girls? try a game of Rugby Union or League.
