People are buying tickets for this movie already? Is this a European phenomenon? In the U.S., all the theaters I know of will not sell tickets for a movie more than 24 hours in advance of the showing you wish to attend. Therefore, since this movie debuts on 17 December, 2003, one will not be able to buy tickets prior to around noon on 16 December 2003. Is this movie premiering prior to this in Europe?

You can't reserve and buy tickets in advance in the US? At all? Or just before the premiere comes out? I can't imagine not being able to reserve my seats before going to the theater.

The way it works here is that usually around a month before the movie comes up you can go and buy/reserve your ticket for it. If you buy it, that's that. If you reserve it, you must usually go and use your reservation number (this varies between different theaters) to buy the ticket latest an hour or a day before the movie starts. If you don't they cancel your reservation and anyone can buy your seat from that point on.

Most theatres in the US will only physically sell tickets some finite number of hours before show time. One exception to this has been Trilogy Tuesday, or as it is also known, "Numb-Butt-Athon". On Tuesday, Dec 16 select theatres will start showing FOTR at around 6:00p, slide into TTT at around 9:00p, and have it all timed to start ROTK at midnight. These tickets were sold well in advance, and AFAIK, all locations that are having the marathon are sold out.

You can, however, go online to sites like Moviefone.com and buy tickets for any show at any theatre at least one week in advance.

Probably the most notable and best loved scenes that are not part of any of the theatrical releases are...Tom Bombadil, the barrow downs, the fate of Saruman, the Scouring of the Shire, and the Houses of Healing.

On a side note, Peter Jackson's next project is to be a remake of King Kong. There are some rumors that he is considering a film adaptation of Lewis's "Chronicles of Narnia".

Arabwel...if you are a fan of Viggo Mortensen, try to find him in Ridley Scott's "Witness"...one of his first film credits.

    OT:

That's the Harrison Ford movie. Or you can watch "American Yakuza", Viggo in the starring role and had a decent acting plus the story wasn't so bad either.

Hmm, thankies. I am not such a huge Viggo fan, buut I do like him.

( I am an elf-fancier, so Hugo weaving and Marton Csokas are my definite must-sees. :D )

OK, there are a couple of little spoilerish things in this interview if you have never read the books...so beware...but here is a fantastic interview with Gollum. Aparently there were some tensions between him and PJ on the set :D .
