[IMG] I also have a story of a stupid death...it was my main character.

Me and my party were investigating the guarded compound at the Temple District from the inside, met Sion and his gang and followed them "well prepaired" upstairs.

When we saw the enemy we started to begin the fight...and then...all I remember was the painful death cry of Aerie(an acid trap dissolved her body), then Minsc went berserk having noticed losing his new witch, begining to chop my character's(a shapeshifter) head. At the same time Mazzy, and Yoshimo started to stuff Minsc with arrows to give time to my char to flee Minsc.
But unfortunately Minsc Succeeded in one round. After finishing my character Minsc turned on Koshi, the enemy kensai and he died from the other acid trap.

I lost Aerie, my main character and Minsc in Two rounds, without even had been touched by the enemy!!! It was very dissapointing. Bad luck sish! :D

In Vaulkeen Promenade, I defeat the mercenaries from above the inn, and after that I tried to open the chests and ... boom, Yoshimo was desintegrated ...

I remember I had problems killing the Dragon of Irenicus.... AFter a few times dying I casted a cloudkill and was slashing the dragon with my dragonslayer... Finally he felt down..... and my characters where all still alive. I was very content but missed one thing...
After I opened a beer for celebration I found out I was poisoned a little bit by my own cloudkill and I didn't had a slow poison or an elixer of health... so I could do nothing more then watch myself die very slowly..... again.

I've noticed that if a party member is poisoned and you don't have a slow poison memorized, but know the spell, you can rest and are cured afterwards. Presumably your priest memorizes slow poison, casts it and then rests again, but should that really happen?

The Hold Person that shaman (and a few others) cast appears to disallow saves. I'm not sure about this but it seems like you always get held if he manages to get the spell off.

    Anyone else also observed this?

I've never had anyone dying because of poison. Almost all my characters outlive the poison without the use of antidote.

Maybe this has something to do with my main character being a figther-type.

[IMG] What odd ideas you have about poison!
Poison does x amount of damage spread out over x number of rounds. There is nothing more to it.

I think it was different in BG1, but I'm not sure. I used to be able to kill flesh golems by poisioning them and running away. Also with my low level BG1 party, when a couple (Jahiera and I forget who else) got poisoned by a spider a forced march to the nearest temple killed them, but resting cured them.
