    The man is taunting his son. Robert Duvall was amazing in the movie. He plays a violent man and not a very good father or husband.

    I've actually heard a lot of people use the title of this movie when referring to a violent or abusive man.

    I can think of a few things that I'd call that violent or abusive man, but they would likely draw a warning from the moderators. I also have trouble envisioning a movie with any such title...

    T2Bruno has it. I was actually thinking of "Monster in a Box" but Swimming is the same thing by the same person.

    That was easier than I thought.

    I rented "Monster" once upon a time because of the title. I was way surprised at what the movie really was. But it was interesting.

    No, a bit older than that. The man -- or his ghost, I should say -- goes from ~22 on one side of a boundry to ~72 on the other side. It represents the man returning to the most important part of who he was.

    Edit: The old man was a Hollywood legend, in his last big screen role (he did a couple of things on TV after that).
